Job Summary

We’re looking for a motivated and confident back of house member to join our team. In this role, you’ll be hands-on in preparing baked goods, soups, salads and sandwiches. Kitchen staff work independently to craft the delicious food and bakery offerings at the cafe.

- Must be available to work 8am - 4pm Sunday, 7am - 3pm Monday

Additional hours available through illness and holiday coverage. More hours available in late fall/early winter.

Previous commercial experience in baking, food preparation, or restaurant work is required.

***Barista skills an asset. Please mention this in your application. More hours available if open to working on the Counter as well as the Kitchen.***

Responsibilities

- Preparing from scratch baked goods such as muffins, pastries, and scones following established recipes and standards.
- Breakfast and lunch food preparation tasks including making soups, salads and sandwiches and wraps.
- Maintain the quality standards set by the Kitchen Manager




- Help with customer service by answering questions about baked items and taking orders when needed.
- Follow all health and safety regulations to keep the kitchen safe and hygienic.

Requirements

- Knowledge of baking and cooking concepts, troubleshooting and receipe development.
- Confidence working independently to meet required par stocks efficiently and to our high standards.
- Strong understanding of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures. Food Handlers certification an asset.
- Ability to work efficiently in a busy environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Valuable communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
- Willingness to learn new baking techniques and kitchen processes.

Pay: $17.60-$25.00 per hour
