Donewell Property Services is looking for motivated, experienced, and dependable individuals to join our team for the 2026 summer season. We are currently hiring Landscaping Foremen / Lead Hands to help lead commercial and residential landscape construction projects while working alongside crews in the field.

This is a full-time seasonal position, with work averaging 160–200 hours per month, depending on workload, weather, and project schedule. For the right candidates, this role also offers the opportunity to transition into a long-term, year-round position as we continue into the fall and winter seasons.

Position Overview

As a Landscape Foreman / Lead Hand, you will be responsible for helping lead a crew of 2–4 team members on a variety of landscape construction projects. This is a hands-on leadership role that requires both field experience and the ability to direct, organize, and support a crew throughout each stage of a project.

Reporting to the Landscape Manager, you will be expected to maintain job quality, keep projects moving efficiently, and ensure your crew is working safely and productively. The ideal candidate is experienced in landscape construction, confident operating equipment, capable of reading job expectations clearly, and comfortable taking initiative on site.

This role is best suited for someone who takes pride in producing clean, professional results and can keep a team focused, organized, and motivated throughout the day.

As a Foreman or Lead Hand, your crew will rely on you to set the tone each day. Being consistent, prepared, and focused on quality is a key part of succeeding in this position.

Team Leadership and Crew Collaboration

You must be able to work well with others and lead by example, as each crew typically consists of 2–4 staff members. This role requires strong communication, a positive attitude, and the ability to keep your team organized, productive, and working efficiently together on site.

Valid Driver’s License

Applicants must have a valid driver’s license and be comfortable driving a truck with a trailer. This position may require transporting tools, equipment, and materials to and from job sites, so confidence and experience towing a trailer is important.

Skid Steer Experience

Candidates must have skid steer operating experience and be able to use equipment safely and effectively on landscape construction projects. Experience with grading, material movement, site prep, and general machine operation is highly valued in this role.

Experience Required

We are looking for individuals with strong experience in multiple areas of landscape construction, including but not limited to:

- Patios

Experience installing patios using a variety of materials, while ensuring proper base preparation, grading, leveling, and final appearance.

- Retaining Walls

Knowledge of retaining wall installation, including site prep, base work, leveling, drainage considerations, and building structurally sound, visually appealing walls.

- Fence and Deck Construction

Experience assisting with or leading the construction of fences and decks, with an understanding of layout, measurements, material handling, and quality finishing.

- Landscape Lighting

Ability to install or assist with landscape lighting systems that improve both the function and appearance of outdoor spaces.

- Brick Work and Stone Work

Experience working with brick and stone in landscaping applications, with an eye for detail, proper placement, and clean final presentation.

- Final Grades

Understanding of final grading to ensure proper drainage, site readiness,



and smooth project completion before finishing elements are installed.

- Edging

Experience installing landscape edging cleanly and accurately to create defined, professional-looking borders and separation between landscape features.

- Mulch Beds and Rock Beds

Ability to prepare and install mulch and rock beds properly, including weed barrier use, shaping, and achieving a neat, finished look.

- Tree and Shrub Planting

Knowledge of proper planting techniques for trees and shrubs, including placement, spacing, soil preparation, and care considerations.

- Sod Installation

Experience with sod prep and installation, including grading, soil prep, rolling, cutting, and leaving behind a clean, healthy finished product.

Responsibilities

- Lead and work alongside a landscaping crew on commercial and residential landscape construction projects
- Organize daily tasks and help ensure projects are completed efficiently and to company standards
- Maintain a high level of workmanship and attention to detail on every job site
- Supervise crew members, provide direction, and support team productivity throughout the day
- Operate trucks, trailers, skid steers, and other equipment safely and responsibly
- Ensure all work is performed in a safe manner and in compliance with company safety expectations
- Communicate with management regarding project progress, material needs, site conditions, and any issues that arise
- Help train and mentor crew members by leading through example and maintaining a strong work ethic on site
- Ensure job sites are kept organized, professional, and clean throughout the duration of each project

Pay: $24.00-$30.00 per hour
