We are looking for an experienced Bookkeeper to join our Kelowna Head Office accounting team. The successful candidate will be responsible for bookkeeping and accounting functions for multiple gas station and convenience store locations.
Responsibilities
- Full-cycle bookkeeping using Sage Accounting.
- Process and review invoices through AutoEntry.
- Enter and maintain accounting records using Excel and manual entries when required.
- Perform bank, credit card, vendor and general ledger reconciliations.
- Reconcile daily/weekly sales, deposits and payment transactions from multiple locations.
- Process Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
- Prepare and post journal entries.
- Assist with monthly and year-end accounting procedures.
- Prepare and file GST/PST reports.
- Process payroll runs for employees across multiple locations.
- Complete payroll reconciliations and payroll audits.
- Review payroll records and investigate discrepancies.
- Maintain employee payroll and accounting records.
- Assist with inventory and cost-of-goods accounting.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies between accounting records, bank statements, POS reports and supporting documents.
- Prepare Excel reports and accounting schedules for management.
- Communicate with store managers and head office regarding missing documentation and accounting discrepancies.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of bookkeeping/accounting experience.
- Experience with Sage Accounting.
- Experience with AutoEntry is an asset.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong understanding of bookkeeping and reconciliations.
- Experience with GST/PST reporting.
- Experience processing payroll and payroll audits.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple locations and a high volume of transactions.
- Experience in gas station, convenience store or retail accounting is an asset.
Pay: $22.73-$32.37 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
