CGI Montréal is looking for a Program Manager with strong experience in portfolio management and project management. In this role, you will be responsible for leading one of the major savings transformation initiatives. As this ecosystem is the largest and will receive the most significant project investment, you will play a key role in supporting senior leadership by ensuring visibility across the entire project portfolio, as well as managing a team of project managers. Your future duties and responsibilities
- Define the overall vision for programs/projects, articulate business objectives, and ensure each initiative contributes to the organizational strategy
- Translate strategic directions into integrated plans (scope, milestones, dependencies, capacity) and prioritize initiatives based on expected business value
- Navigate effectively in highly ambiguous environments and facilitate informed decision-making when alignment is difficult to achieve
- Advise senior leadership, prepare decision-making materials, and recommend adjustments based on business case analyses and risk assessments
- Lead large-scale, multi-year strategic projects involving multiple teams within a complex matrix environment, including collaboration with Project Managers, Scrum Masters, Release Train Engineers (RTEs), and other stakeholders
- Establish clear governance structures (roles, responsibilities, decision-making authority), facilitate program/project steering committees, and ensure the quality of information presented to support decisions to approve, redirect, or terminate initiatives
- Be accountable for budgets (forecasting, cost tracking, variance analysis), business cases, and the expected return on value for the organization
- Identify major risks (strategic, operational, financial), their dependencies, and cross-functional impacts; propose mitigation strategies and contingency plans
- Establish early warning mechanisms and escalation processes for critical issues
- Produce integrated executive dashboards providing a clear view of delivery progress, predictability, costs, and overall program health, supported by fact-based analyses and recommendations for corrective actions
- Optimize and implement continuous improvement cycles to enhance organizational maturity in program and project management (planning, risk management, benefits realization)
- Structure and evolve the delivery framework and existing practices while establishing a high level of predictability to sustainably strengthen delivery quality and reliability
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
- University degree in Business Administration, Management, Computer Science, or a related field
- Minimum of 10 years of experience managing strategic IT programs and projects
- Experience delivering large-scale initiatives ($10M+) in complex environments
- Proven experience supporting executive-level governance and decision-making bodies
- PMI and/or Agile certifications (e.g., PMP, PgMP, PfMP, etc.) will be considered an asset
- Good knowledge of the insurance industry
- Solid understanding of the IT sector, including development and architecture environments, as well as modern delivery practices (DevOps, CI/CD, Agile)
CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licenses and certifications.
Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is 100 000$ et 190 000$. This position is a future opportunity.
