Arris Construction Group is hiring an experienced Commercial Construction Estimator to join its team in Stouffville, Ontario.

This role is well suited to an estimator who can independently manage the core stages of a commercial tender, apply sound estimating judgment, and keep multiple bids moving accurately and on schedule.

You will have direct involvement throughout the estimating process, from preliminary budgeting and initial tender review through takeoffs, scope development, subcontractor pricing, bid submission, and project handoff.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

- Prepare preliminary budgets and early-stage cost estimates based on available project information
- Review drawings, specifications, and tender documents to understand project requirements and develop complete scopes of work
- Prepare detailed quantity and material takeoffs and build competitive cost estimates
- Solicit pricing from subcontractors and suppliers and evaluate quotations for scope, completeness, and competitiveness
- Identify scope gaps, drawing discrepancies, exclusions, and potential cost or tender risks before submission
- Coordinate RFIs, tender clarifications,



and required information throughout the bid process
- Manage multiple active tenders while maintaining organization and submission deadlines
- Develop and assemble competitive bids and proposals through tender closeout
- Communicate with subcontractors, suppliers, internal team members, and leadership throughout the estimating process
- Support a clear handoff from estimating to the project execution team following award

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

- Preliminary budgets and estimates are well considered, competitive, and aligned with available project information
- Scopes are well developed and potential tender risks are identified before submission
- Multiple tenders are managed effectively with robust organization and follow-through
- Awarded projects transition cleanly from estimating into execution

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

- Commercial construction estimating experience with demonstrated responsibility for managing key stages of the tender process
- Strong ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, scopes, and tender documents
- Experience developing preliminary budgets and early-stage cost estimates
- Experience completing detailed quantity and material takeoffs




- Experience developing scopes of work and working directly with subcontractor and supplier pricing
- Strong bid analysis skills and the ability to identify scope gaps, exclusions, and pricing risks
- Proven ability to manage multiple bids, priorities, and deadlines
- Strong attention to detail, organization, communication, and follow-through
- Sound estimating judgment and the ability to work effectively in a deadline-driven environment

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

- Salary: $70,000-$85,000 per year, depending on experience
- Additional flexibility may be available for an exceptional candidate with a stronger level of directly relevant commercial estimating experience

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This is a full-time, in-office position based in Stouffville, Ontario, Monday to Friday, with occasional site visits as required.
