Drive the bus. Run the pack. Get paid to spend your day with dogs.
You've probably seen the bus. Ruff and Puff has been running Calgary's original dog school bus since 2020, and about 2 million people follow along online. Every day our buses pick up a pack of dogs from their homes, take them out to our private fenced park for a real off-leash adventure, then deliver them home tired and happy.
We're adding a driver/handler to the crew. This is hands-on work. You're behind the wheel for part of the day and out in the field with 8-12 dogs for the rest of it, so we need someone genuinely confident around a big group and just as comfortable talking to the owners who trust us with them.
We currently run in South Calgary only.

What the day looks like
- Run your route in one of our short buses, picking up and dropping off at client homes
- Load and unload calmly, keeping the pack settled and safe
- Supervise group play at our private park and read the room before problems start
- Step in on behavioural stuff (resource guarding, over-arousal, scuffles) with confidence
- Check dogs in and out on your phone, write up report cards, get photos of every dog
- Grab clips and photos we can use on social
- Leave the bus and the park clean at the end of the run
What you need
- 2+ years of paid, professional dog handling: daycare, walking, training,
boarding, or rescue
- Valid Class 5 licence
- 3+ consecutive years of driving insurance history and a clean abstract
- Comfortable driving a short school bus. We train you on the vehicle, we can't train you on 12 dogs at once
- Strong communication. You're the face of the business at every door
- Legal to work in Canada, fluent English
Bonus points
- Pet first aid certification
- Formal dog training education or certification
- You already shoot decent phone content
Schedule and pay
- Monday to Friday, daytime hours. No evenings, no weekends
- Starts part-time at 12 to 20 hours a week while you train on the route
- Moves to full time at 30 to 40 hours a week once established
- $23/hr to start, up to $25/hr as your experience and training build
