Electrical Apprentice Ready for a New Challenge?

Have you started your career in the electrical trade but are interested in exploring a different path? We are seeking Electrical Apprentices who are interested in transitioning into the refrigeration industry and building a long-term career as a Refrigeration Technician.

Your existing electrical knowledge, ability to read schematics, and troubleshooting skills will be valuable assets as you learn a new trade. In this role, you will receive hands-on training, mentorship, and the opportunity to develop expertise in commercial refrigeration systems while working on projects across British Columbia.

At Jones Food Store Equipment, we supply, install, and service refrigeration equipment primarily for supermarkets throughout British Columbia. Jones Food Store Equipment is part of Hussmann Canada, a Panasonic company, combining our local expertise with the resources and strength of a global industry leader.

Our Opportunity:

As part of our installation and service team, you will receive hands-on experience, ongoing development, and the opportunity to grow into a Journeyperson Refrigeration Technician.

Apprentices are supervised and mentored by Certified Refrigeration Technicians. You will have the ability to learn and apply company methods, practices, procedures, and regulatory requirements to install refrigeration systems.

Jones is a unionized company, and our refrigeration mechanics are members of UA Local 516,

Requirements

- Must be available to work flexible hours, evenings, nights and weekends.
- Willing to work overtime hours
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude is a must
- Career oriented with an interest in ongoing technical and skilled training
- Skilled trade experience preferred
- Electrical / Mechanical troubleshooting skills are an asset
- Ability to analyze and interpret construction drawings, schematics, technical literature, and equipment specifications is an asset.
- Self-motivated and team-oriented
- Effectively communicate in English, both written and verbal.
- Class 5 driver’s license

Work Location:

On the road: primarily in a Lower Mainland, with some work anywhere in BC.

Pay: $22.63-$45.27 per hour
