We are looking for an experienced and dependable Dispatcher to join our team in Abbotsford, BC.

We are a growing transportation company operating dry vans and reefers throughout Canada and the United States. We're looking for someone who understands the trucking industry and can take ownership of the day-to-day dispatch process. This is a hands-on role for someone who is organized, resourceful, communicates well with drivers and customers, and can adapt quickly when things don't go according to plan.

Responsibilities

- Dispatch and coordinate drivers to ensure freight is picked up and delivered safely and on time
- Plan and manage driver schedules, routes, appointments, and equipment availability
- Monitor active loads and provide updates to customers, brokers, and drivers
- Communicate daily with drivers, customers, brokers, shippers, and receivers
- Source and book freight through load boards, brokers, and other available opportunities
- Negotiate freight rates when required
- Monitor driver availability and Hours of Service to ensure dispatch plans are realistic and compliant
- Coordinate Canada/U.S. cross-border shipments and ensure required information and documentation is in place
- Track trailer and equipment locations and help maximize equipment utilization
- Manage both dry van and temperature-controlled reefer freight
- Monitor reefer requirements and communicate any issues or concerns as they arise
- Proactively handle delays, missed appointments, breakdowns, border issues, and other operational challenges
- Coordinate with maintenance when equipment requires service or repairs
- Ensure bills of lading, PODs,



and other required paperwork are completed and submitted
- Keep dispatch, load, and equipment information accurate and up to date
- Work independently while keeping management informed of significant operational issues

What We're Looking For

- Minimum 2 years of dispatch experience within the trucking or transportation industry
- Experience dispatching 53' dry vans and/or reefers
- Strong understanding of Canada/U.S. cross-border transportation
- Experience using load boards and working with freight brokers
- Comfortable sourcing freight and negotiating rates
- Good understanding of Hours of Service and transportation regulations
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build good working relationships with drivers, customers, and brokers
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and make decisions in a quick-paced environment
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure
- Comfortable using dispatch, transportation management, GPS, and general computer software
- Familiarity with bills of lading, PODs, and transportation paperwork

We're looking for someone who doesn't need to be micromanaged and understands that no two days in trucking are the same. You'll need to be comfortable making decisions, solving problems as they come up, and keeping multiple drivers and loads moving at the same time.

The ideal candidate has real-world trucking dispatch experience and understands the importance of communication, follow-through, and keeping customers and drivers informed.

Pay: $18.25-$22.00 per hour
