About the Opportunity
We are seeking a CAD & Manufacturing Technician to support our engineering and production activities. The position is responsible for preparing and maintaining foam specifications, cutting patterns, DXF files, and technical documentation used in manufacturing.
The role works closely with production to ensure drawings, specifications, dimensions, and cutting requirements are accurate, up to date, and aligned with production needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and maintain foam specifications and cutting patterns.
- Create, modify, and maintain DXF files and revisions.
- Maintain accurate production records and technical documentation.
- Review foam grades, dimensions, thicknesses, tolerances, and cutting requirements.
- Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Identify and resolve drawing, dimensional, or specification issues as required.
- Provide technical support to CNC, slitter, gluing, and other production processes.
- Support sample orders and new product setups.
- Follow all company safety policies and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What You'll Bring
- Post-secondary education in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Mechanical Design, CAD/Drafting, Manufacturing Engineering Technology, or a related technical field is an asset.
- Relevant technical education or equivalent practical experience is an asset.
- Recent graduate or minimum of six (6) months of experience in manufacturing, CAD, engineering support or a related technical role.
- Manufacturing/production experience is an asset.
- Knowledge of furniture manufacturing, or related production processes is an asset.
- Hands-on experience with AutoCAD/DXF experience is required.
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings and specifications.
- Robust mathematical and dimensional-checking skills.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to organize and maintain technical documentation and revision records.

Pay: From $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
