We are seeking a skilled On-Road Journeyman Diesel Mechanic to join an established team in Acheson, Alberta. This role is perfect for a certified technician with a strong background in diesel mechanics. Techs with certifications such as a Red Seal or Alberta Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technician Truck and Transport Mechanic are highly encouraged to apply Ontario 310T/310S holders are also welcome to apply. Duties & Responsibilities:

- Diagnose malfunctions and perform comprehensive vehicle repairs, including adjustments and tests on various systems like steering, electrical, cooling, braking, and more.
- Conduct test drives to verify the resolution of repair issues.
- Ensure all major repairs receive appropriate inspections and approvals before vehicles are released from the maintenance facility.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and effective work area in compliance with all relevant regulations.
- Identify and report any additional maintenance or repairs discovered during assigned tasks.
- Record time spent, parts used, and details of repairs and maintenance conducted on the appropriate forms.




- Communicate with the Lead Technician about any unsafe maintenance conditions or practices and potential vehicle abuse.
- Handle road calls and on-the-road repairs as needed.

Requirements:

- A minimum of 3 years of experience in fleet maintenance, including repair and engine rebuilds on diesel trucks or buses, in a fast-paced environment.
- Must possess a Red Seal or Alberta Journeyman certification in Truck and Transport Mechanic.
- Ontario 310T or 310S will be recognized as equivalent.

- Must be able to operate a service vehicle with a valid license for mobile repair duties.
- Proficiency in computerized diagnostics and general shop computer usage.
- Experience with purchasing and budget management in a fleet maintenance context.
- Excellent computer skills, particularly with Word and Excel.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Good organizational skills are advantageous.

#HJ1 Compensation:

- $42 to $43/hr based on experience.
