DC Forming – Carpenter Foreman (Working Foreman)
Location: Fraser Valley / Lower Mainland
Company: DC Forming
Type: Full-time
About DC Forming
DC Forming is a concrete formwork company based in Abbotsford, operating throughout the Fraser Valley and Lower Mainland. We work on residential, multi-family, and light commercial projects.
We are intentionally moving from owner-run sites to a foreman-led structure and are looking for a solid working foreman who can own a site, lead a small crew, and still be productive on the tools.
If you take pride in building, leading, and running a clean, organized site — this role is for you.
The Role
The Carpenter Foreman is responsible for owning the day-to-day execution of a DC Forming project site.
This is a hands-on leadership role. Our projects typically run with crews of 4–5 people, meaning the foreman is expected to be working on the tools more often than not, while also planning work, directing the crew, coordinating materials, and ensuring the job runs safely and on schedule.
When leadership, coordination, or problem-solving is required, the foreman steps off the tools to lead.
This role carries real authority and accountability for site outcomes.
Key ResponsibilitiesSite Leadership & Production
- Own daily site operations and results
- Lead and direct a crew of carpenters, apprentices, and labourers
- Actively work on the tools when not engaged in foreman duties
- Step off the tools as required to plan, coordinate, and resolve issues
- Maintain productivity, safety, and quality standards
Planning & Coordination
- Plan daily and weekly work in advance
- Anticipate material, manpower, and equipment needs
- Organize tools, deliveries, and site logistics
- Coordinate with the General Contractor and inspectors
- Communicate clearly with DC Forming management
Schedule & Performance
- Meet key schedule milestones
- Ensure continual progress on site
- Identify issues early and escalate when necessary
- Keep the job moving without constant owner involvement
Administration & Compliance
- Complete daily paperwork for DC Forming and the General Contractor
- Enforce safety policies, site rules, and legal requirements
- Ensure work meets drawings, specifications, and quality expectations

- Calm and decisive under pressure
- Comfortable taking ownership and accountability
