Your Opportunity:

Acute Care Alberta (ACA) is seeking an experienced and results-oriented Project Coordinator to join the Corporate Services team. Reporting to the Director, Corporate Services, the Project Coordinator leads the planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of strategic projects and initiatives that support organizational priorities and operational excellence across ACA. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to organizational transformation and improvement initiatives within a complex and evolving healthcare environment. The Project Coordinator works closely with leaders, project sponsors, subject matter experts, and stakeholders to advance strategic priorities, support informed decision-making, and deliver projects of moderate to high complexity that create measurable organizational value. As the lead for assigned initiatives, the Project Coordinator provides functional leadership to cross-functional teams and working groups, fosters collaboration among diverse stakeholders, and supports successful project implementation and sustainment. The successful candidate is a strategic thinker with strong project management, communication, relationship-building, analytical, and problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage competing priorities while delivering results in a dynamic environment.

Description:

The Project Coordinator is responsible for leading the planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of strategic projects and initiatives for Corporate Services that support organizational priorities across Acute Care Alberta. Working in a complex healthcare environment, the Project Coordinator leads projects of moderate to high complexity,



ensuring outcomes are delivered on time and aligned with organizational and operational priorities. The Project Coordinator provides leadership for assigned projects from initiation through implementation and evaluation. The incumbent coordinates resources, manages priorities, identifies and mitigates risks, monitors progress, and supports achievement of project outcomes. Working collaboratively with sponsors, leaders, subject matter experts, and stakeholders, the Project Coordinator leads engagement and communication activities, facilitates cross-functional working groups and committees, and supports decision-making through analysis, recommendations, and reporting. The role serves as a key contact for assigned initiatives, prepares reports, presentations, briefing materials, and project updates, and represents Corporate Services in meetings and committees. The Project Coordinator leads cross-functional teams in the delivery of strategic initiatives, ensuring alignment, engagement, and accountability throughout the project lifecycle. Responsibilities include managing project scope, timelines, deliverables, risks, and outcomes; supporting implementation and change management activities; and identifying opportunities for quality improvement and operational efficiency. The successful candidate demonstrates robust project management expertise, excellent communication and relationship-building skills, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently with diverse stakeholders to successfully deliver initiatives.

Required Qualifications:

Diploma in Business Administration, Health Administration, Public Administration, Project Management, Planning, Social Sciences, or a related field. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered. Minimum 7 to 10 years of progressively responsible experience leading or supporting projects, programs, or organizational initiatives. Demonstrated experience managing multiple priorities and competing deadlines in a complex environment. Strong analytical, organizational, communication, facilitation, and problem-solving skills. Experience preparing reports, presentations, briefing materials, and executive-level communications. Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Project Management certification or coursework such as PMP, CAPM, or equivalent. Experience within healthcare, government, or other large public-sector organizations. Experience supporting strategic transformation, infrastructure, healthcare, or complex organizational projects. Knowledge of project management methodologies, risk management practices, and quality improvement frameworks.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a related field.
