Are you detail-oriented, analytical, and looking to secure a permanent full-time warehouse role? GigHound is hiring an Inventory Control Specialist on behalf of a top-tier e-commerce distribution facility in Guelph!

This is a 4-week Temp-to-Perm program. You will start your trial period through GigHound with the direct goal of transitioning onto the client’s permanent full-time payroll after 4 weeks.

Pay Rate & Schedule Requirements

- Starting Rate: $18.48 / hour
- Training Period (Weeks 1 & 2): Monday to Friday | 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Permanent Schedule (Week 3 Onward): Monday to Friday | 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM

Note: Candidates must be 100% available for the 2-week daytime training AND committed to the ongoing 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM afternoon schedule long-term.

Daily Job Overview

You’ll be responsible for maintaining precise inventory accuracy across the warehouse, performing regular audits, resolving stock count discrepancies, and operating an Order Picker to access elevated inventory racking.

Key Responsibilities:

- Inventory Accuracy: Maintain inventory stock numbers on all overstock products and correct inventory counts as problems arise.
- Audits & Reconciliations: Perform regular audits, cycle counts, and reconciliations on existing inventory using RF scanners and systems.
- Problem Resolution: Investigate and resolve quality control or stock discrepancies, reporting findings back to the Team Lead.
- Equipment Operation: Safely operate an Order Picker forklift to access elevated racking for inventory checks, audits, and product moves. (Free in-house machine training provided).
- Quality & Expiry Checks: Perform up-to-date expiry checks to ensure products fall within company guidelines and report damaged stock immediately.
- Department Support: Assist with warehouse reorganization,



adding/removing stock locations, and restocking sample inventory as needed.

What We Are Looking For:

- Warehouse Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in a rapid-paced warehouse environment.
- Comfort at Heights: Must be comfortable operating an Order Picker machine elevated high into warehouse racking. (Prior forklift or machine experience is a strong asset).
- High Attention to Detail: Strong analytical and organizational skills to catch stock discrepancies and perform accurate audits.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to perform active physical labor (extended standing, walking) and comfortably lift up to 50 lbs.
- Safety Gear: Must own CSA-approved steel-toed safety boots ready for day one.
- Commute: Must have reliable transportation to arrive on site for scheduled shift times in Guelph.
- Work Eligibility: Must be legally eligible to work full-time hours (40 hours/week) in Canada long-term.
