We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Assistant Kitchen manager to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have experience in the food industry and a strong commitment to food safety and quality. As a Cook, you will play a vital role in meal preparation, ensuring that each dish is prepared to perfection while adhering to our restaurant's standards. This position requires a collaborative spirit and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards.
- Ensure all food is prepared in compliance with food safety and handling regulations.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including workstations, utensils, and equipment.
- Assist with inventory management, including ordering supplies and monitoring stock levels.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure efficient meal preparation and timely service.
- Participate in menu planning and development, contributing creative ideas for recent dishes.
- Help train new kitchen staff on food preparation techniques and safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Cook or in a similar role within the food service industry is preferred.
- Knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling techniques.
- Strong culinary skills with an emphasis on meal preparation and presentation.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
