Overview
Join our dynamic team as an Inventory Control & IT Support Clerk, where you'll play a vital role in managing inventory accuracy and supporting IT systems across our warehouse and distribution operations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to combine analytical expertise with hands-on support, ensuring seamless supply chain processes and efficient materials management. You'll be at the forefront of optimizing inventory workflows, leveraging data analytics tools, and maintaining robust IT infrastructure to drive operational excellence.
This role is roughly 70% inventory control and 30% IT systems support. The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys working across multiple locations, has a keen eye for detail, and possesses basic technical skills to keep our ERP system running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory Control (approx. 70% of time)
- Regularly visit all branches (Markham, Mississauga, Vaughan) to perform physical inventory counts
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies
- Maintain and update inventory data in the ERP system to ensure accuracy
- Generate and analyze inventory reports to identify trends and problem areas
- Work with warehouse and operations teams to improve inventory processes
- Support periodic cycle counts and year-end inventory audits
IT Systems Support (approx. 30% of time)
- Provide first-line technical support to internal users
- Maintain and ensure the stability of the existing in-house ERP system
- Perform basic system administration and troubleshooting
- Assist with user account management and access permissions
- Document IT procedures and maintain system records
Qualifications
- 1–3 years of experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, or a related field
- 1–3 years of working experience with ERP systems (in-house or commercial) is an asset
- Knowledge of Odoo development or experience with Odoo-based ERP systems is highly preferred
- Basic understanding of Linux command-line administration
- Working knowledge of JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
- Understanding of HTTP, REST, and web application architecture
- Solid attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Valid G driver's license (required for travel to multiple locations)
Education
- Minimum college diploma (or equivalent) required
- Post-secondary coursework in computer science, programming, or a related field is strongly preferred
Compensation & Benefits
- Base Salary: $45,000 – $55,000 CAD per year (based on experience), plus performance-based bonus
- Company vehicle provided for travel to all branches and DC locations
- Company-issued work mobile phone
- Overtime pay: Any hours worked beyond 44 hours per week will be paid at 1.5 times the regular hourly rate
- Saturday work: If the employee wishes to work on Saturdays, we are happy to arrange it. Overtime rates will apply as per provincial regulations for any hours worked beyond the standard 44-hour workweek.
Work Location & Schedule
- Primary work location: Markham, ON (Headquarters) or Mississauga, ON as mutually agreed.
- Regular travel to all GTA branches and the DC for inventory counts
- Standard working hours: Monday to Friday, either 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM or 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM (including a 30‑minute unpaid lunch break, resulting in 8 actual working hours per day)
- Saturday work may be arranged upon the employee's request
