We’re partnering with a large, established organization to recruit a Senior Economic Analyst for a newly created 12-month contract in South Edmonton.

This is a high-visibility role for someone who can do more than analyze economic data. We’re looking for someone who can understand what is happening across the Canadian and North American economy, identify the potential business impact, and translate complex information into clear insights for senior leadership.

The successful candidate will combine strong economic analysis with business acumen, strategic thinking and exceptional communication skills.

What You’ll Be Doing

- Research and analyze macroeconomic and industry trends across Canada and North America.
- Monitor interest rates, inflation, GDP, labour markets, material costs, supply-chain conditions, tariffs and Canada/U.S. trade developments.
- Assess how changing economic conditions could impact business strategy, capital investment, construction activity, costs and market opportunities.
- Prepare quarterly economic outlooks covering current conditions, emerging risks and forward-looking trends.
- Translate complex economic data into explicit, concise recommendations and business implications.
- Prepare executive briefings, presentations, decision decks, reports and talking points.
- Identify emerging economic risks and opportunities and provide timely analysis to leadership.
- Gather and synthesize information from multiple internal and external sources.
- Develop dashboards and visual reporting that make economic information easy to understand.
- Partner with stakeholders across finance, operations, procurement, strategy and other areas.
- Support scenario analysis, forecasting, strategic planning and market positioning.

- Present findings to stakeholders as required and confidently respond to questions regarding your analysis.

What We’re Looking For

- 5–10 years of experience in economic analysis, economic research, market intelligence, corporate strategy, forecasting or a related area.
- Degree in Economics, Finance, Business, Statistics or a related field.
- Strong understanding of macro and microeconomics.
- Strong quantitative, research and analytical skills.
- Ability to connect economic conditions to real-world business implications and strategic decisions.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Solid executive-level writing skills with the ability to simplify technical information.
- Business-minded and comfortable making evidence-based recommendations rather than simply presenting data.
- Solid relationship-building skills and ability to collaborate across multiple business areas.
- Experience with Power BI or other data visualization tools
- Forecasting and scenario-modelling experience is an asset.
- Construction or infrastructure experience is an asset but is not required.
