Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Survey Assistant to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will support survey operations by collecting, managing, and analyzing spatial and geographic data essential for construction, planning, and development projects. Your contributions will help ensure accurate mapping, data integrity, and efficient project workflows. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in surveying technology and data management within a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

- Assist in the collection of field survey data using GPS devices, total stations, and other surveying equipment
- Support the preparation of survey drawings and plans utilizing AutoCAD and CAD software
- Manage geographic information system (GIS) data using ArcGIS to support spatial analysis and mapping projects
- Conduct site inspections to gather accurate measurements and verify existing survey data
- Organize and maintain databases containing survey records, field notes, and related documentation
- Collaborate with surveyors and engineers to ensure data accuracy and project compliance
- Contribute to data quality control processes by reviewing collected information for consistency and completeness

Skills

- Proficiency in AutoCAD, CAD,



and GIS software such as ArcGIS for mapping and data visualization
- must hold academic study of civil engineering technician or technologist or similar
- Construction experience or familiarity with construction sites enhances understanding of project requirements
- Robust skills in data collection techniques using modern surveying tools and equipment
- Knowledge of data management practices including organizing, storing, and retrieving survey records effectively
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions while maintaining attention to detail
- Familiarity with databases used for storing spatial and attribute data related to surveys
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate with team members and document findings clearly
