The Hilton Vancouver Airport and Vancouver Airport Marriott are currently recruiting for the following position:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Assists Director of Engineering in overseeing the maintenance engineering systems for both The Hilton and Marriott Vancouver Airport Hotels, leading by example and displaying a high standard of care and performance
- Assists Director of Engineering with the development and implementation of preventative maintenance programs for guest rooms, public areas and back-of-house systems
- Assists with the supervision, training and scheduling of engineering maintenance teams across both hotels
- Responds promptly and diligently to maintenance order requests and emergencies with a solid understanding of priority sequencing with regard to life, fire and safety measures top of mind
- Assists Director of Engineering in ensuring team compliance with health, safety, fire, and building regulations
- Assists Director of Engineering in conducting regular inspections of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems
- Assists Director of Engineering in the coordination with external contractors and vendors as instructed by the Director of Engineering
- Assists with management of maintenance budgets, inventory, and purchasing of supplies and equipment
- Assists Director of Engineering in maintaining accurate records of repairs, inspections,



and maintenance logs
- Assists Director of Engineering with maintaining compliance of various brand standard engineering measures according to The Hilton and Marriott Vancouver Airport Hotels brand requirements
- Other tasks and projects as assigned by the Director of Engineering, and in the absence of the Director of Engineering, reports the General Managers of both hotel properties

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in hotel maintenance engineering or similar experience in a relevant capacity such as trades or comparable work sites
- Good knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical)
- Prior supervisor experience leading a team a big asset
- Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure and deadlines
- Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
- Flexible unrestricted availability including early mornings, mid-day, evenings, ability to be *on-call is essential, and/or open during any such hours as needed
- Relevant certifications or trade qualifications are an asset

Pay: $33.67 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
