Apolo is a vibrant neighborhood restaurant known for our unique culinary blend—serving a bustling morning breakfast menu alongside an authentic, scratch-made Greek dinner service. We pride ourselves on quality ingredients, consistency, and a supportive team environment. We are currently looking for a skilled, versatile Line Cook / Prep Cook to join our kitchen family.
Position Overview
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Line Cook / Prep Cook who can seamlessly transition between fast-paced morning breakfast prep/service and evening Greek dinner service. You will work closely with our culinary team to prep ingredients, maintain health and safety standards, and execute dishes with precision and passion.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute both breakfast orders (eggs, griddles, breakfast proteins) and classic Greek dinner items to recipe standards.
- Complete daily prep lists efficiently, ensuring all ingredients are chopped, portioned, and stocked before service.
- Maintain a clean, sanitized, and organized work station following all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Manage ticket times and communicate effectively with front-of-house staff during peak service rushes.
- Properly rotate stock (FIFO) and assist with inventory management as needed.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of professional line cook or prep cook experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Familiarity with both breakfast/brunch operations and Greek culinary techniques is strongly preferred.
- Strong knife skills and a solid understanding of kitchen safety and sanitation.
- Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and work well under pressure in a team-oriented environment.
- Flexible availability (including mornings, weekends, and evenings).
