Maple Villa Long Term Care Centre is now looking for casual, part-time Environmental Aides. Must be available to work weekend shifts (Saturday and Sunday) and evening shifts.

Previous experience cleaning in long-term care, retirement or hospital setting is an asset.

Maple Villa operates as a Long-Term Care Centre since 1971, serving seniors and older adults of Halton region and surrounding areas. Client and Family Centred Care is co-designed to meet all aspects of the individual needs of our residents in a safe, home-like environment. The ownership, management & staff form a compassionate, people-driven team. Our team strength is bonded by a dynamic partnership developed with our residents, their families and the community. Reports to the Environmental Team Lead and Building Services Supervisor.

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Strict adherence to infection control best practices for cleaning and disinfecting.
- Clean and service assigned rooms and areas according to established standards and procedures including dusting, vacuuming, cleaning and sanitizing bathrooms, removing trash and this position includes floor care duties.
- Follow all safety and security procedures and regulations while performing daily duties
- Perform additional duties as assigned or directed by management (laundry, public areas, etc.)





Required Skills

- Minimum one (1) years’ experience in housekeeping department
- Proven cleaning ability with full attention to details
- Approachable, pleasant, polite, fast
- Must be able to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
- Knowledge of infection control and cleaning techniques and products an asset
- Self-starter and able to work with minimum supervision

Qualifications

- Effective interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills
- Must be available weekends and evening shifts
- Ability to work as a member of the team
- Strong customer service experience
- Able to take initiative and work with minimal supervision
- Vulnerable Sector Police Check and Two Step TB test within 6 months
