Crawford & Company is seeking a highly motivated Auto Claims Adjuster to join our growing team remotely across Canada. In this role, you will be responsible for investigating, evaluating, negotiating, and resolving commercial and personal lines claims through telephone and written correspondence. You will work independently within delegated authority while collaborating with clients, insureds, and field adjusters to deliver exceptional claims service.
- Investigate, gather, and analyze claim information to determine coverage, liability, and damages.
- Evaluate commercial and personal lines property and automobile physical damage claims.
- Negotiate and settle claims within assigned authority limits.
- Coordinate and direct field adjusters when on-site investigations are required.
- Maintain accurate claim documentation, reserves, activities, and transaction records.
- Prepare clear and professional reports, recommendations, and correspondence.
- Ensure timely and accurate billing, time management, and expense reporting.
- Deliver a high level of customer service while maintaining compliance with company standards and industry regulations.
- Minimum of 3 to 4 years of experience handling Auto Physical Damage (PD) claims.
- Strong knowledge of both commercial and personal insurance lines.
- Alberta Adjuster's License or the ability to obtain one is required.
- Post-secondary education in an insurance-related field.
- Currently pursuing or willing to pursue a full independent adjusting license and Chartered Insurance Qualified (CIP) designation.
- Proven ability to conduct telephone investigations, assess coverage, determine liability, negotiate settlements,
and resolve first- and third-party claims.
- Strong organizational skills with experience maintaining accurate claim files, reserve records, and documentation.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and customer service skills.
- Professional telephone etiquette and the ability to build rapport with clients and claimants.
- Self-motivated team player with a commitment to quality, accuracy, and service excellence.
