Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Dayshift Cashier to join our team in a fast-paced food service workplace. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, handling transactions accurately, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace. This role offers an opportunity to develop skills in food preparation, POS systems, and customer engagement within the food industry. Prior restaurant or food service experience is preferred but not required; we value strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a positive attitude. The position is part-time, working during daytime hours, and involves engaging with customers to ensure a pleasant dining experience.

Responsibilities

- Operate POS systems efficiently for processing orders and payments
- Handle cash, credit card transactions, and perform cash handling duties accurately
- Provide friendly and attentive customer service to ensure customer satisfaction
- Assist with food preparation and food handling as needed, maintaining food safety standards
- Upsell menu items and promote specials to enhance sales opportunities




- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the cashier station and surrounding areas
- Manage time effectively during busy periods to serve customers promptly
- Follow proper sanitation procedures and adhere to food safety regulations
- Support team members with serving duties when required

Experience

- Previous experience in food service or restaurant environment preferred but not mandatory
- Familiarity with POS systems
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to handle cash handling accurately
- Basic math skills for processing transactions and giving correct change
- Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and food handling procedures
- Experience in upselling or suggestive selling techniques is advantageous
- Ability to manage time efficiently in a fast-paced setting and work collaboratively with team members

Pay: From $16.75 per hour

Expected hours: 30.0 – 40.0 per week
