CO-OP - Quality Assurance/Logistics Laborer
The position Co-op Quality Assurance/Logistics Laborer is with Fike Canada (in office), a subsidiary of Fike Corporation headquartered in Blue Springs, Missouri, U.S. Employment for this role will be based in (Ontario) and subject to Canadian employment legislation. This posting is for a CO-OP existing vacancy, reporting to the Manager, Quality Assurance/Logistics for the Quality department.
Job Summary:
Performs a variety of routine and repetitive tasks in support of quality assurance, logistics, and other operations.
Primary Responsibilities:
1. Backs up saw operator when required.
2. Removes burrs or excess metal from machined parts.
3. Finishing and packaging of machined parts.
4. Backs up logistics when required.
5. Inspection, cleaning and packaging of parts (clean room).
6. May do simple machine work.
7. Duties as assigned.
8. Adheres to safety practices and procedures.
9. Follows procedures as defined by Fike policies, procedures and ISO 9001 requirements.
Performs related duties as assigned. Regular and consistent attendance is required.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee frequently is required to talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to walk; sit; use hand to handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds using appropriate moving devices. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
The employee is occasionally exposed to guarded moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Essential Skills:
Subject Matter Understanding. Computer Applications. Inspecting/Examining. Machining. Housekeeping.
Job Qualifications:
Required: Minimum grade 10 education OSS or equivalent. Ability to read and follow instructions.
Preferred: Exposure to machining operations and blue prints.
Working Conditions & Benefits
Hours: As an hourly employee, it is expected that the employeee's hours will be Monday to Friday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, and the employee will be required to work the hour’s necessary to meet the needs of the position.
Benefits: This position is not eligible for benefits.
In compliance with the Employment Standards Act, 2000 and Ontario Regulation 476/24, the expected compensation for this position is: $19.51 CAD to $24.81 CAD.
