The Chilko Experience

Canada

About Chilko

The Chilko Experience is a boutique wilderness lodge in British Columbia's Chilcotin region — an off-the-beaten-path place where guests come for untouched nature, wildlife, fine dining, and a truly personal experience. We host small groups (typically 12–16 guests) and take pride in warm, thoughtful service and a polished guest journey from first inquiry to final farewell.

The Role

We're looking for a capable, calm and organised Lodge Operations Manager to support the smooth running of guest logistics and behind-the-scenes operations during peak season. This is a varied and hands-on senior role combining guest communications, travel coordination and operations administration.

This position commences in late April or early May 2027, running through to October. We are also hoping to find someone who is available to visit the lodge for a month or so this season (September through to October 20th, 2026) to get a feel for the place, meet the team and settle in ahead of next year. This is not a requirement, but it would be a wonderful opportunity and we'd highly encourage it if you're available.

Key Responsibilities

Guest Logistics & Communications

- Coordinate guest travel plans and logistics (arrival and departure details, transport timing, special notes)
- Maintain organised itineraries and clear internal communication so the team is prepared for every arrival
- Manage guest communications pre-arrival (packing guidance, travel confirmations, dietary requirements and key details)
- Handle guest enquiries, bookings and correspondence with a warm, professional tone

Operations & Administration

- Oversee a team of 12–14 staff, supporting communication between management and department heads
- Oversee and maintain work standards across the lodge
- Support payroll coordination and administrative tasks (timesheets, staff hours,

reporting)
- Support light bookkeeping and admin coordination as needed (invoices, basic spend reporting)
- Keep internal documents organised and up to date (guest lists, schedules, checklists)

You'll Thrive Here If You Are...

- Someone who loves the BC wilderness and embraces the peace that comes with working in a remote location
- Exceptionally organised and calm under pressure — remote operations require transparent thinking and adaptability
- A strong communicator with a warm, professional tone
- Confident juggling multiple priorities and switching between tasks quickly
- Trustworthy with sensitive information (payroll and admin) and able to work with discretion
- Tech-comfortable: Google Drive, spreadsheets and email

Bonus (Nice to Have)

- Experience in hospitality, travel coordination or lodge and resort operations
- Familiarity with small business admin processes including basic bookkeeping
- Previous experience managing or supporting a small team in a remote or seasonal environment

What We Offer

- A competitive weekly salary
- The opportunity to earn generous tips
- All food and lodging provided on-site
- Access to our property and facilities when off-duty
- A small, supportive team environment
- The opportunity to return for multiple seasons and grow within the role
- A truly exceptional wilderness setting to live and work in
- Off-season work opportunity: For the right candidate, there is the option to continue working remotely during the off-season in a part-time capacity. This typically involves supporting the hiring process, handling guest enquiries and light bookkeeping and administration. This work is paid at $25 CAD per hour and is a great way to stay connected to Chilko and hit the ground running the following season

Job Type: Seasonal

Pay: $1,200.00-$1,500.00 per week
