Job Responsibilities
- Perform truck and heavy commercial vehicle emission testing in accordance with applicable Ontario requirements and company procedures.
- Conduct inspections and testing using approved emission testing equipment and diagnostic tools.
- Connect and operate emission testing and vehicle diagnostic equipment safely and accurately.
- Verify vehicle information and testing requirements before beginning each test.
- Perform accurate testing and document test results.
- Explain testing requirements and results professionally to customers.
- Maintain accurate electronic and/or paper records of completed tests.
- Identify basic vehicle/emission-related issues and communicate findings to customers where appropriate.
- Coordinate with fleet managers, truck owners, drivers, repair shops and other commercial customers.
- Travel to customer locations when mobile testing services are required.
- Maintain testing equipment and ensure tools are kept clean, calibrated and operational.
- Follow all workplace health and safety requirements.
- Maintain a professional appearance and provide excellent customer service.
- Assist with scheduling and customer coordination when required.
- Support business development by identifying opportunities with fleets, repair shops and commercial vehicle operators.
- Meet company quality, productivity and customer-service standards.
Qualifications Required
- Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation.
- Strong interest in commercial vehicles, automotive technology or emission testing.
- Ability to work independently and professionally with customers.
- Basic computer and mobile device skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately record test information.
- Good communication and customer-service skills.
- Ability to work Monday to Friday.
- Ability to travel to customer locations when required.
- Ability to safely work around trucks and commercial vehicles.
Preferred
- Previous experience working with trucks, diesel engines, automotive repair or vehicle diagnostics.
- Experience with emission testing or commercial vehicle inspections.
- Automotive, diesel, heavy-duty equipment or mechanical education/certification.
- Experience working with diagnostic scanners or vehicle testing equipment.
- Experience working with trucking companies, fleets or repair facilities.
- Commercial driver's licence or relevant truck-driving experience is an asset.

Compensation
Compensation will be based on experience, qualifications and availability.
The position includes a competitive base remuneration package plus commission/performance incentives, providing an opportunity for motivated employees to increase their overall earnings.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is dependable, technically minded, customer-focused and comfortable working around commercial trucks.
You do not necessarily need to be an experienced emission tester. Candidates with a strong mechanical/automotive background and a willingness to learn are encouraged to apply.
Experience with trucks, diesel vehicles, diagnostics, fleet operations or automotive services will be considered a strong asset.
