Dunbar Animal Hospital is a well-established, independently owned small animal practice in Vancouver. We are currently looking for a Veterinary Assistant / Receptionist to join our friendly and supportive team.

This is a hybrid role ideal for someone who enjoys both hands-on patient care and front-desk client interaction.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist veterinarians during exams, treatments, and procedures
- Safely restrain cats and dogs
- Prepare exam rooms and assist with basic diagnostics and lab work
- Monitor patients before and after procedures
- Maintain accurate medical records
- Greet clients and patients professionally and compassionately
- Answer phones, schedule appointments, and manage daily bookings
- Process payments, invoices, and estimates
- Communicate clearly with clients regarding treatments and follow-up care
- Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

- 1 years of experience in a veterinary industry preferred




- Experience as a veterinary assistant, receptionist, or combined role is an asset
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to multitask in a busy environment
- Comfortable handling animals of various temperaments
- Reliable, detail-oriented, and a team player
