Dynamo Playgrounds is looking for a versatile, hands-on IT Systems & Applications Administrator to manage and improve the technology systems that support our business.

This is not a traditional help-desk role. We are looking for a technically capable generalist who can work across servers, networking, databases, programming, web applications, cloud services, automation, and business systems.

You do not need to know every technology in our environment. What matters most is having strong technical fundamentals, being comfortable learning unfamiliar systems, and being able to independently research and solve problems.

Key Responsibilities

- Administer Windows Server and Linux systems
- Maintain Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, file shares, permissions, and related services
- Support networking, VLANs, VPNs, Wi-Fi, firewalls, and branch-office connectivity
- Maintain virtualization, NAS/iSCSI storage, backups, and disaster-recovery systems
- Troubleshoot and maintain internal applications, scripts, databases, and integrations
- Write and modify SQL queries and perform basic database administration, backup, restore, and migration tasks
- Maintain and extend custom PHP-based applications and other scripts or web tools
- Support Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, cloud services, and business applications
- Maintain the company's WordPress website and related technical integrations
- Develop or maintain automation using scripts, APIs, and tools such as n8n




- Evaluate and support emerging technologies, including AI-assisted workflows
- Maintain clear technical documentation and keep active projects and priorities organized
- Assist employees with technical issues and coordinate with outside specialists when required

Technical Background

Candidates should have practical experience in several of the following areas:

- Windows Server administration
- Linux administration from the command line
- TCP/IP networking, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing, VPNs, and firewalls
- SQL and relational databases
- Programming or scripting
- Web applications and web servers
- Virtualization platforms
- Backup and recovery principles
- Microsoft 365 / Exchange Online
- REST APIs and system integrations
- File-server permissions and network storage

Valuable Experience

Experience with any of the following would be a strong asset:

- PHP
- PowerShell
- MySQL/MariaDB or Microsoft SQL Server
- Bash
- JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
- Apache
- WordPress
- VMware, Hyper-V, Proxmox, or similar virtualization platforms
- NAS, RAID, and iSCSI storage
- AWS or Google Cloud
- Docker
- n8n or similar workflow-automation platforms
- cPanel/WHM
- Cisco networking
- Microsoft Graph
- ERP systems

Experience with every technology listed above is not required.

- Can read, understand, troubleshoot, and modify existing code
- Has solid practical SQL skills




- Understands core networking, security, backup, and systems-administration concepts
- Is organized and able to manage multiple priorities
- Documents important systems, changes, and procedures
- Communicates clearly with non-technical employees
- Knows when to continue troubleshooting and when outside expertise is appropriate

Education & Experience

A degree or diploma in computer science, information technology, software development, computer engineering, or a related field is an asset, but equivalent practical experience will be considered.

Several years of hands-on experience in a role involving a combination of systems administration, programming, databases, networking, web technologies, automation, or business systems is preferred.

The ability to demonstrate systems you have maintained, problems you have solved, applications or scripts you have developed, or technologies you have successfully learned is more important than holding a specific certification.

Nature of the Role

This position is best suited to someone who enjoys variety and is comfortable taking ownership of technical problems.

One day may involve troubleshooting a server or network issue; another may involve modifying an SQL query, fixing a PHP application, restoring data, updating a website integration, writing a PowerShell or Bash script, or improving a business process through automation.

The successful candidate will not be expected to know every answer immediately, but they will be expected to understand the fundamentals, research what they do not know, and work toward a practical solution.

Pay: $75,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
