AQUATECH is a privately owned Canadian corporation established in 2004, specialising in management, operation, and maintenance services for both water and wastewater facilities. AQUATECH is the largest private operator of water and wastewater treatment plants in Canada.

We are presently seeking a Certified Wastewater Operator to join our team in the East Calgary area. AQUATECH is looking for an individual who is seeking a career with our rapidly expanding company and is eager to learn.

Operator Main Responsibilities

Working under the guidance of the supervisor, you’re responsible for conducting the daily operation and maintenance of the Water & Wastewater facilities. This position will report to the area Operations Manager.

· The main responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:

o Carry out the daily operation (regulatory monitoring, reporting, process adjustments, chemical transferring and maintenance) of the facilities

o Troubleshooting plant operations

o Maintain required inventory and inventory control of critical spare parts, chemicals, & consumables

o Operate and monitor Lift Stations and Lagoons

o Operate Distribution and Collection systems

o Complete and compile data of daily inspections, monitoring, and sampling as required

o Perform maintenance tasks

o Perform laboratory analysis and reporting

o Preparation weekly, monthly, annual reports as required

o Participate in required meetings (in-person & remotely)





o Participate and comply with all aspects of the company’s health and safety

program

Hours of Work

The Operator position will be 10 days on and 4 days off totaling 40 Hours/week. Work week would be subject to change depending on time off, vacation or sickness coverage of other operations

personnel. Regular hours of operation are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm but are subject to change. The position is also subject to On-Call duties on a scheduled rotation.

Required Qualifications

· Current Level I or II Water Treatment Operator Certification at minimum (proof of certification is required)

· Ability to lift 25 kg (55lb)

· Intermediate to advanced mechanical knowledge

· Ability to work under pressure quickly and efficiently

· Excellent problem solving skills

· Microsoft Office program experience

· Strong independent worker and team player

· Good communication skills, both written and verbal

· Proven ability to supervise and communicate with staff members

· Positive attitude and able to promote a positive image of AQUATECH

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

· Training certificates in H2S, First Aid, Confined Space, and TDG.

· Supervisor safety training courses considered an asset.
