Journeyman Plumber/Gasfitter

Maher’s Plumbing & Heating Ltd. is a well-established, privately owned company based in Hay River, Northwest Territories. We offer competitive wages (negotiable based on experience) and an independent work environment.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

- Install, repair, and maintain pipes, valves, fittings, drainage systems, and fixtures in commercial and residential structures.
- Collaborate with general contractors, electricians, and other construction professionals.
- Follow building plans and blueprints.
- Respond to, diagnose, and resolve plumbing & heating emergencies.
- Perform routine inspections of heating, plumbing, and drainage systems.
- Light construction, carpentry, painting, plastering, flooring, ceiling, and electrical work as required.
- Prepare bids, budgets, and cost estimates.
- Keep accurate records of time spent working, description of work performed, and materials used.

Qualifications and Skills:

- Knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and safety practices.
- Ability to read and follow blueprints and rough drawings.
- Familiarity with PVC, CPVC, PEX,



cast iron, and copper.
- Effective oral communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to complete projects unsupervised and unassisted.
- Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously & independently.
- Proficiency in basic mathematics and conversion of measurements.
- Ability to use computer software. (Example: Jobber – scheduling software)

Education and Experience Requirements:

- Red Seal – Plumber/Gasfitter
- Priority will be given to applicants who also have an OBM certification.
- Apprentices may be considered.
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License.
- Criminal Records Check

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $45.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40.0 per week
