Job Type: Full-time, Salaried, 9-month contract position

About KGCS: Kahkewistahaw Gas and Convenience Stores (KGCS) are community-owned retail operations located in Yorkton and Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. These entities serve as both a frontline economic driver and community-serving business for Kahkewistahaw First Nation. The stores are recognized for its strong, supportive team culture, which is highlighted as a key reason customers continue to choose KGCS.

Position Overview: The Interim General Manager (GM) is responsible for the overall leadership, performance, and operational success of KGCS. This role ensures the business operates efficiently, safely, and profitably while upholding Kahkewistahaw First Nation values, delivering excellent customer service, and supporting a positive workplace culture. The GM leads day-to-day operations, financial management, staffing, strategic direction, inventory control, and community relations. They work closely with KEMC leadership to implement strategic direction, meet performance targets, and contribute to long-term sustainability and growth.

Qualifications & Requirements:

- Minimum 3-5 years of management experience in retail, fuel, or a related field.

- Post-secondary education in business admin, management, or related discipline is an asset.

- Experience working with First Nations organizations is an asset.





- Valid Saskatchewan Class 5 Driver's License and have access to a reliable vehicle.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

- Robust leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

- Proven ability to manage budgets, financial reporting, and operational performance.

- Knowledge of inventory systems, point-of-sale operations, and cash management.

- Ability to problem-solve, make decisions, and manage competing priorities.

- High level of professionalism, integrity, and accountability.

- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required.

- Ability to monitor and enforce policies and procedures.
