F&B; Supervisor & Sommelier - New Restaurant Opening

Summary:

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Restaurant Supervisor to oversee daily restaurant operations. Working closely with the Food & Beverage Manager, this role leads front-of-house team, ensures excellent guest service, maintains quality standards, and supports the development of the restaurant’s wine and beverage program. The ideal candidate has robust supervisory and communication skills, restaurant experience, and a genuine passion for hospitality and exceptional guest service.

Key Responsibilities:

- Supervise daily restaurant operations to ensure smooth, efficient service and guest satisfaction.
- Lead, train, and support the front-of-house team, including hosts, servers, bartenders, and bussers.
- Develop and maintain the wine list and support the restaurant’s cocktail and beverage program.
- Ensure team members consistently follow service standards, policies, and procedures.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, organization, and presentation throughout dining and service areas.
- Assist with staff scheduling, shift coverage, and timekeeping.
- Provide ongoing training, coaching, and performance feedback to team members.
- Handle guest inquiries, concerns, complaints, and special requests professionally and promptly.
- Coordinate with the kitchen team to ensure timely food delivery and smooth service flow.
- Assist with opening and closing procedures, including cash handling and end-of-day reporting.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering front-of-house and beverage supplies as required.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, sanitation, and workplace standards.
- Step into front-of-house roles as needed during peak periods or staff shortages.

Requirements:





- Previous experience in a supervisory role within a restaurant or hospitality setting.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities.
- Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering excellent service.
- Good organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Must be of legal age to serve alcohol and have appropriate alcohol service certification.
- Basic understanding of restaurant POS systems and cash handling procedures.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Preferred Skills:

- Experience in both casual and high-volume dining environments.
- Knowledge of food safety and alcohol service regulations.
- Ability to train and mentor team members effectively.
- Familiarity with basic administrative tasks (e.g., scheduling, reporting, stock monitoring).

Physical Requirements:

- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Able to lift up to 30 lbs as needed.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
