Boxcar Donuts St. Thomas is a new coffee and donut shop bringing fresh, made-in- house donuts and quality coffee to the community. We are building a team that takes pride in great service and a welcoming atmosphere for every guest.

About the Role

We are looking for a friendly and reliable Customer Service Representative / Barista to join our team. This role is the face of our shop, responsible for preparing coffee and beverages, serving donuts and other menu items, and creating a positive experience for every customer who walks through our door.

Responsibilities

- Greet and serve customers in a warm, professional manner
- Prepare and serve coffee, espresso-based drinks, and other beverages to company standards
- Serve donuts and other bakery items, and assist with light food handling
- Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system and handle cash and card transactions accurately
- Maintain cleanliness of the counter, seating area, and equipment throughout each shift
- Restock supplies and monitor inventory levels, alerting management when items run low
- Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines at all times
- Address customer questions or concerns and escalate issues to a manager when needed Support opening (9 AM) and closing (4 PM) duties as scheduled





Qualifications

- Previous experience as a barista, cashier, or in customer service is an asset but not required — training provided
- Friendly, outgoing personality with strong communication skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced workplace
- Reliable and punctual, with availability within the 9 AM – 4 PM shop hours
- Comfortable standing for extended periods and handling light lifting
- Smart Serve certification an asset (or willingness to obtain)
- Food Handler Certification an asset (or willingness to obtain)
