Opportunities are currently available to enjoy the fresh air and incredible views in a stunning national park setting this winter while “Taking Care of Banff” by working with our Municipal Parks team to make our stairs, and trails safe and enjoyable for the public.
As a winter seasonal labourer with the Forests, Gardens & Trails team, your duties will include: shoveling stairs, pathways, litter picking, splitting firewood, sanding, chipping ice, and helping with urban forest tasks.
You will need to be energetic, have a great attitude, be flexible and willing to learn new tasks, have an eye for detail, and have the ability to work comfortably outside in all weather conditions. This position is based on 40 hours per week and will be Friday to Monday shifts. An Alberta Class 5 driver’s license is required, along with recent and clear driver’s abstract.
The rate of pay for this position is between $22.00 and $24.00 per hour depending on experience. This contract will start October 20, 2026 at the earliest and will end on May 1, 2027. Working four 10-hour shifts (6am-4pm) a week will leave you 3 days off each week to enjoy all that winter in Banff has to offer.
This position may lead to a Summer Seasonal Labourer contract or potentially a permanent role for the right candidate.
