Location: St. Peter’s Childcare – New Westminster, BC
Job Type: Part-Time
Hours: 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM, Monday to Friday
Base Wage: $20.00–$22.00 per hour
Anticipated Start Date: September 2026, subject to licensing approval and confirmation of the opening date
Compensation
The base wage for this part-time ECE position is $20.00–$22.00 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience.
Eligible Early Childhood Educators may also receive the applicable $6.00 per hour BC ECE Wage Enhancement, subject to eligibility and program requirements.
There may be an opportunity to transition to a full-time position in the future as enrollment increases.

St. Peter’s Childcare is a Catholic faith-based childcare program located at St. Peter’s Parish in New Westminster, BC.
Guided by the BC Early Learning Framework and Catholic values, we provide a warm, inclusive, and play-based workplace where children feel safe, valued, and supported.
We are looking for a caring, dependable, and enthusiastic Early Childhood Educator (ECE) to join our growing team.
Responsibilities
- Provide attentive care and supervision for children
- Build positive and respectful relationships with children
- Plan and support developmentally appropriate, play-based learning experiences
- Support children’s social-emotional development and positive interactions
- Assist with daily routines, transitions, outdoor activities, and neighbourhood walks
- Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment
- Communicate professionally with families and colleagues
- Work collaboratively with the Childcare Manager and other educators
- Follow BC childcare licensing requirements and centre policies
- Respect and support the Catholic values and philosophy of St. Peter’s Childcare
Qualifications
- Valid BC Early Childhood Educator (ECE) Certificate required
- Current First Aid Certificate appropriate for childcare
- Ability to complete a satisfactory Criminal Record Check
- Knowledge of child development and the BC Early Learning Framework
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Caring, reliable, patient, and professional
- Legally authorized to work in Canada
Please note that applicants holding only an ECEA Certificate are not eligible for this position.
Assets
The following experience would be considered an asset:
- Experience working in a licensed group childcare setting
- Experience working with children aged 30 months to school age
- Experience supporting children with diverse abilities and needs
- Experience working in a Catholic or faith-based environment
