Reporting to the Manager of Long-Term Mine Planning, the Senior Engineer will be responsible for providing expert technical, project, and medium- to long-term planning direction for current and future operations. They will work 5 days on, followed by 2 days off schedule and will work remotely, with occasional visits to the Montreal office and the Windfall site.

Tasks and responsibilities

- Prepare and implement strategic plans that align with Gold Fields' operational strategic vision. Identify and advance strategic projects that support this vision, demonstrating the potential of these investments to maximize operational value.
- Perform any other tasks related to the mining engineer position that are relevant to the success of the project.
- Consistently demonstrate and reflect behaviors, actions, and attitudes aligned with Gold Fields' vision, values, and Code of Ethics. Actively promote Gold Fields' policies, procedures, and systems relevant to the area of responsibility.

- Establish strategic alliances by promoting the capabilities of the role to facilitate understanding and better achieve objectives by establishing, improving and maintaining productive and constructive interpersonal relationships both internally with strategic planning teams, technical services and production, and externally with business partners and consultants.
- Demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement by contributing to the optimization of systems, processes and practices, by regularly reviewing and identifying new opportunities, and by developing these opportunities as directed.
- Ensure the confidence of relevant staff to make informed business decisions by conscientiously applying the knowledge, skills and capabilities necessary to provide expert advice in mining engineering, prepare AFEs and contribute to project work as directed.
- Create competent, consistent, and optimal designs and schedules that consider the latest economic and geological information.
- Ensure maximum return on investment by carrying out optimization, design and evaluation work, calculating ore reserves in accordance with established planning policies, such as cut-off grades and legislative requirements.
- Ensure that all members of the underground team have a clear understanding of the objectives by leading and controlling the coordination of regular project planning meetings, ensuring that deliverables are properly recorded and distributed.
- To ensure the success of the mine by competently developing, communicating and distributing appropriate project plans and mine development plans, thereby enabling optimal extraction of gold ore from the mine.
- Prepare and deliver annual reserve and resource reports in accordance with SK1300 and SAMREC requirements, including the technical and financial work necessary to support their inclusion. Identify and actively work to replace and augment the reserve base and extend the mine life.





Required qualifications

- Hold a bachelor's degree (BAC) in mining engineering;
- Be a member in good standing of the Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ) or equivalent Canadian order;
- Possess a minimum of 7 to 10 years of experience in mining engineering;
- Solid experience in underground mine planning;
- Hold a valid class 5 driver's license;
- Holding mining modules (FMTM) 1-2-3-4-5 and 7; (asset);
- Possess a valid explosives permit, an asset
- Bilingual, French and English. Will be required to work and communicate in French.

Technical skills

- Experience with a variety of mineral deposit types and models;
- Excellent knowledge of current mining laws and regulations;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Excel, Outlook, etc.);
- Proficiency in mining planning software, such as the Deswik suite and AutoCAD;
- Knowledge of Ventsim software, an asset.

- Strong strategic thinking and 3D analytical skills;
- Leadership and skills for multidisciplinary teamwork;
- Absolute rigor regarding health and safety standards underground.
