What is Steamoji?

Steamoji is a STEM maker academy for children ages 5–15, helping them build the technical skills, creative confidence, and entrepreneurial mindset needed to thrive in a rapidly changing world. Through hands-on learning in fabrication, physical computing, engineering, and digital arts, apprentices explore emerging technologies while developing essential skills such as design thinking, creativity, collaboration, and a growth mindset. They’ll put these skills into practice by tackling real-world problems as they turn their ideas into tangible solutions.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic education professional to manage daily operations and lead staff by instilling a passion for STEAM subjects and providing a safe, comfortable and exciting learning environment for Steamoji families. You must be highly adaptable, flexible and have a spirit of embracing change. Your strong communication and leadership skills make you a self-starter who can get things done.

Are you familiar with STEAM curriculum and love working with kids? Are you completely comfortable engaging with parents and professionals in your community? This could be the role for you.

As a key player, the Assistant Manager has the opportunity to make and control the success of the academy.

Responsibilities:

- Oversee daily operations of the academy
- Be an ambassador for the Steamoji brand
- Develop and train staff to deliver our STEAM curriculum
- Follow up on leads, conduct tours of the academy, schedule trial sessions, and help families register
- Closing the sale – you are responsible for closing the sale and converting a consult to sign up




- Engage with children and families in the academy as owner of the client experience
- Ensure that parents understand how their child is learning and progressing
- Supervise a team of facilitators
- Ensure the academy is a fun and safe learning environment for our students
- Uphold corporate standards with respect to center cleanliness & operational standards
- Ability to think on the fly and be perceptive to center dynamics
- Report regularly with owners

Qualifications:

Highly-motivated seeking a leadership and sales position working with children and engaging with parents.

- University or college degree/diploma
- Proven work history with children ages 7 and up and enthusiasm for working with kids
- Experience teaching kids and understanding their needs
- Knowledge of business operations, sales, and team leadership
- Familiarity with technology, social media, office equipment
- Coding knowledge or experience an asset
- Flexible schedule
- Must be fun to work with and enjoy working in a fast-paced, agile environment
- Deadline and detail-oriented, as we can't miss dates or overlook customers
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Outgoing
- Sales-focused

Job Type: Contract

Hours: 35 hours per week

Starting Salary: $42,000-55,000 annually - plus commission structure

Location: North Vancouver, BC

Training this Fall - some virtual training some in class training.
