Degrees Diner - UMSU is restaurant located on the 3rd floor of UMSU University Centre at the University of Manitoba, we are a bustling diner cooking up delicious, homemade eats. We have a focus on local and sustainable food and are looking for a friendly, motivated and reliable person to join our team.

We are looking for experienced line cooks with availability between 10am - 5pm Monday-Friday. This role does not require weekend and holiday availability.

Responsibilities for BOH:

- Setting up stations for service.
- Prepare and cook food in a timely and productive manner.
- Clean and maintain kitchen equipment and utensils.
- Keep the work area, including the kitchen and dish area, clean, organized, and sanitary at all times.
- Follow recipes and instructions precisely.
- Comply with all food safety rules and regulations.




- Work cooperatively with the team to maintain a high level of service to our customers.
- Able to work independently but also with a team
- Ability to multitask
- Works well under pressure
- Ability to open and/or close

Experience:

- Minimum 2 years of line cooking
- Food Safe Certification required
- WHMIS Certification required
- Strong attention to detail required.
- Able to work at a quick, yet efficient and thorough pace.
- Able to follow instructions.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
