Gardiner Park Child-Care Inc. is looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Temporary Cook to join our team and cover a medical leave for approximately 4 months.

Position Details

- Position: Temporary Childcare Cook
- Duration: Approximately 4 months
- Hours: Monday–Friday 7:00am-3:00pm
- Start Date: Tuesday, September 8th, 2026
- Location: Gardiner Park Child-Care Inc.

Responsibilities

- Prepare and serve nutritious, well-balanced meals and snacks for the children.
- Follow our centre's menu and accommodate children's dietary restrictions and allergies.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen.
- Follow proper food handling, storage, and sanitation procedures.
- Complete daily kitchen cleaning and sanitation duties.
- Maintain accurate food and kitchen supply inventories and communicate when supplies need to be ordered.
- Work cooperatively with the childcare team.
- Ensure meals and snacks are prepared and served according to the centre's schedule.
- Follow all applicable childcare licensing, health, and food-safety requirements.

Qualifications





- Previous cooking experience is preferred.
- Experience working in a childcare, school, healthcare, or similar setting is an asset.
- Food safety training/certification is a MUST.
- Must be dependable, organized, and able to work independently.
- Must be comfortable working in a busy childcare environment.
- Must be able to follow allergy and dietary requirements carefully.
- A clear criminal record check/vulnerable sector check and other required childcare documentation will be required.
