**Job Description**

This role focuses on the precise deburring and finishing of large machined and fabricated metal components.

You will remove burrs, sharp edges, slag, and weld spatter, and perform grinding, sanding, polishing, and surface blending to ensure all parts are safe to handle and meet visual and dimensional finishing standards.

**Responsibilities**

+ Perform general deburring and grinding of large machined and fabricated components.
+ Remove burrs, sharp edges, slag, and weld spatter from machined and fabricated parts.
+ Break edges to specified requirements, including radius, chamfer, and edge breaks as indicated on engineering drawings.
+ Ensure all parts are safe to handle by eliminating sharp edges and potential hazards.
+ Carry out grinding, sanding, polishing, and surface blending operations as required to achieve the desired finish.
+ Verify that parts meet visual and dimensional finishing standards before release.
+ Use hand and power tools safely and effectively for deburring and finishing tasks.
+ Work with machined components and weldments, following any specified finishing requirements.
+ Collaborate with team members and follow instructions to meet production and quality targets.
+ Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow all safety procedures.

**Essential Skills**

+ 3–5 years of experience in deburring, grinding, or metal finishing, preferably in a heavy industrial setting.
+ Experience working with machined components and weldments.
+ Proficiency in using hand and power tools safely for deburring, grinding, and polishing.
+ Ability to perform grinding, sanding, polishing, and surface blending on metal components.
+ Strong attention to detail to ensure parts meet visual and dimensional finishing standards.
+ Commitment to safety and ensuring all parts are safe to handle with no sharp edges or hazards.

**Additional Skills & Qualifications**

+ Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to understand finishing requirements is an asset.
+ Experience in a heavy industry or metal fabrication environment is considered an advantage.
+ Flexibility to work on a temporary contract with potential for extension based on performance.
+ Reliable work habits and the ability to follow established processes and quality standards.

**Work Environment**

This position operates in an industrial shop environment focused on metal machining and fabrication.

The shift runs Monday to Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, providing a regular daytime schedule.

The role is offered as a 3–6 month contract, with the possibility of extension depending on performance and operational needs.

You will work with hand and power tools, grinding and polishing equipment, and metal components of various sizes.

The environment requires adherence to safety procedures and the use of appropriate personal protective equipment.

Expect a practical, hands-on setting where you spend most of the day on your feet working with tools and metal parts.

**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract position based out of Mississauga, ON.

**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

**Workplace Type**
This is a fully onsite position in Mississauga,ON.
