**Job Title: Mechanical Assembler**

**Job Description**

The Mechanical Assembler plays a key role in assembling enclosures for data centres and oil and gas units within a rapid-paced manufacturing environment.

You will interpret blueprints and schematics to install mechanical components and hardware, using a variety of hand and power tools, lifting devices, and measuring equipment.

This role involves working both indoors and outdoors, including at heights, while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, and efficiency.

**Responsibilities**

+ Assemble enclosures for data centres and oil and gas units according to blueprints, schematics, and written instructions.
+ Install flux bars and bus bars into electrical cabinets accurately and securely.
+ Install parts and equipment in electrical boxes and related components, ensuring proper fit and alignment.
+ Assemble metal buildings and structures following detailed assembly instructions and production plans.
+ Use hand tools, power tools, wrenches, and lifting devices to complete mechanical assembly tasks efficiently and safely.
+ Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and tape measurements (standard and metric) to ensure precise assembly.
+ Perform heavy lifting and material handling as required to support production and fabrication activities.
+ Work on a production floor in a manufacturing environment, following established workflows and production schedules.
+ Maintain a high level of safety awareness, following all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and workplace guidelines.
+ Support fabrication and panel assembly tasks as needed to meet production targets.
+ Collaborate with team members and supervisors to resolve assembly issues and improve processes.
+ Operate or assist with material handling equipment such as forklifts, overhead cranes, or picker trucks if qualified and required.
+ Inspect completed assemblies for quality, accuracy, and adherence to specifications.
+ Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with safety and housekeeping standards.

**Essential Skills**

+ Minimum 1+ years of experience working on a production floor in a manufacturing environment.
+ Proven mechanical assembly experience, including working with panels, enclosures, and fabricated components.
+ Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics accurately.
+ Strong tape measure skills with the ability to measure in both standard and metric units.
+ Proficiency using hand and power tools very efficiently, including wrenches and related equipment.
+ Mechanically inclined with a solid understanding of production environments and workflows.
+ Comfortable working at heights and in outdoor conditions year-round.
+ Very safety conscious, consistently following safety procedures and PPE requirements.
+ Ability to perform heavy lifting and support production, fabrication, and assembly operations.
+ Experience working with electrical cabinets, electrical boxes, and related components is an asset.
+ Ability to work different shifts, including days and afternoons, as required by production needs.

**Additional Skills & Qualifications**

+ Experience in oil and gas, construction, electrical, or related manufacturing industries is considered an asset.
+ Forklift, overhead crane, and picker truck experience is considered an asset.
+ Experience assembling metal buildings or large enclosures is an advantage.




+ Familiarity with production and fabrication environments, including panel assembly.
+ Willingness to complete 4 to 8 weeks of training on day shift before transitioning to other shifts.
+ Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills in a shop environment.

**Work Environment**

The role is based in a main shop located in a current building, providing a modern manufacturing environment focused on production, fabrication, and mechanical assembly.

Standard shift hours are 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday to Friday, with a half-hour unpaid lunch and overtime available after 40 hours per week.

You must also be open to working an afternoon shift from Monday to Thursday, 2:30 p.m. to 1:00 a.m., which includes a shift premium.

New hires typically complete 4 to 8 weeks of training on day shift before moving to other schedules.

Work involves both indoor and outdoor tasks, including working at heights and in year-round weather conditions, and requires heavy lifting and regular use of hand and power tools, wrenches, and lifting devices.

Safety is a core priority, and personal protective equipment such as CSA-approved green triangle safety boots, safety glasses, and gloves is mandatory.

**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract position based out of Calgary, AB.

**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

**Workplace Type**
This is a fully onsite position in Calgary,AB.
