**Job Title: Mechanical Assembler**
**Job Description**
This role involves working on a fireplace production line as part of a dedicated assembly team in a clean, sophisticated manufacturing facility.
You will assemble high-quality products using hand tools, rotate through multiple stations, and contribute to a structured, routine-driven production process while maintaining strong attention to detail and safety.
**Responsibilities**
+ Work on a fireplace production line as part of the assembly team, initially starting in the packaging area.
+ Assemble products in a sophisticated manufacturing facility using hand tools and following established procedures.
+ Use basic hand tools to perform mechanical assembly tasks, as all primary manufacturing is completed in a separate facility.
+ Rotate through various departments, including assembly, burner assembly, testing, glass set-up, packaging, and parts assembly, as needed.
+ Perform physical assembly work that involves lifting, positioning, and securing components according to specifications.
+ Follow blueprints, schematics, and work instructions to ensure accurate and consistent assembly of products.
+ Assist with final quality control checks on products, supporting staff to ensure each unit meets quality standards.
+ Support the packaging of finished products so they arrive at their destination in perfect condition.
+ Adhere to a structured 9-station rotation process, maintaining focus and consistency in a routine-based environment.
+ Communicate effectively with team members and leads to coordinate tasks, report issues, and support continuous workflow.
+ Follow all safety guidelines, including proper use of tools and adherence to lifting protocols such as buddy systems for heavier loads.
+ Maintain a clean and organized work area, contributing to the overall cleanliness and orderliness of the facility.
**Essential Skills**
+ At least 1–2 years of experience in a mechanical assembly or similar production environment.
+ Hands-on experience using basic hand tools for mechanical assembly tasks.
+ Ability to read and follow blueprints, schematics, and written work instructions.
+ Capability to lift up to 75 pounds using a buddy system when required.
+ Ability to lift up to 50 pounds independently while performing physical assembly work.
+ Positive verbal communication skills to work effectively within a team environment.
+ Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality in all assembly and packaging tasks.
+ Positive attitude and demonstrated values of trust, teamwork, and accountability.
+ Comfort working in a structured, routine-based production environment.
+ Steel-toed work boots (STWB) for safety on the production floor.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Previous experience in fireplace assembly is an asset.
+ 5–10 years or more of experience in mechanical assembly or related manufacturing roles is considered a strong advantage.
+ Experience working in a multi-station or rotation-based production environment.
+ Familiarity with mechanical components and basic mechanical principles.
+ Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively within a team.
+ Willingness to learn different stations, including burner assembly, testing, glass set-up, and parts assembly.

Standard hours are Monday to Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The dress code is casual, with assembly-appropriate attire and steel-toed work boots required at all times.
The physical environment involves hands-on mechanical assembly using hand tools, with clear lifting protocols and safety practices in place to support a safe and comfortable workplace.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of North Vancouver, BC.
**Pay and Perks**
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $23.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
**Workplace Type**
This is a fully onsite position in North Vancouver,BC.
