**Commercial New Construction**
**Job Description**
This role focuses on commercial new construction, where you install and rough-in electrical systems for a large project.
You build and wire electrical rooms, bend and install conduit, perform BX and steel stud rough-ins, install cable trays, and support high-voltage unit sub installations in walls and ceilings.
**Responsibilities**
+ Build and wire electrical rooms for a commercial new construction project.
+ Bend, install, and secure various types of conduit according to project specifications and blueprints.
+ Perform BX rough-in in office areas, ensuring all wiring is properly routed and supported.
+ Complete steel stud rough-in, including routing and securing electrical cabling through framing.
+ Install and maintain cable trays for organized and safe cable management.
+ Pull multiple high-capacity cables, including working with 4 connectors and 750 cables as required.
+ Execute rough-in work in walls and ceilings for high-voltage unit subs and other electrical components.
+ Read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings to plan and execute electrical installations.
+ Follow all site safety procedures and use appropriate tools and equipment for commercial construction work.
+ Communicate effectively with the site team to coordinate tasks, resolve issues, and maintain workflow.
+ Lift, carry, and move materials and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs as needed on the job site.
**Essential Skills**
+ Commercial or industrial electrical experience in construction environments.
+ Registered as a 2nd year electrical apprentice or higher.
+ Proficient in conduit bending and installation for commercial projects.
+ Hands-on experience with electrical rough-in work in walls, ceilings, and steel stud framing.
+ Ability to read and work from blueprints and construction drawings.
+ Reliable access to a car for commuting to the job site.
+ Good communication skills to collaborate effectively with supervisors and team members.
+ Ability to lift and safely handle up to 50 lbs during daily tasks.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Experience operating a scissor lift on construction sites.
+ Training or familiarity with fall protection practices and equipment.
+ Prior experience building and wiring electrical rooms in commercial or industrial settings.

**Work Environment**
This is a short-term project of approximately 6+ weeks on a commercial new construction site.
Standard schedules include either four 10-hour shifts (4x10s, 40 hours straight time) or five 8-hour shifts (5x8s), typically Monday–Thursday or Tuesday–Friday, with the possibility of moving to five 10-hour shifts (5x10s) depending on project needs.
Work takes place in an active construction workplace that may involve working at heights with scissor lifts, using fall protection, and handling tools and materials in partially finished spaces.
The project involves phased onboarding, with several electricians joining in the first week and additional team members starting the following week, contributing to a structured and coordinated work setting.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract position based out of Chilliwack, BC.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $41.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
