Vice President, Operations

Help build Canada’s next global success story.

We are hiring for one of Canada’s fastest growing technology companies, recognized by Deloitte as the #1 Enterprise Software company in the 2025 North American Technology Fast 500 and ranked #5 in Deloitte Canada’s 2024 Technology Fast 50 Companies to Watch.

This is a rare opportunity for an accomplished Marketing leader to join a high growth Canadian technology company at a pivotal stage of its journey, with a clear path toward a future COO suite role.

We are looking for someone who has been there before. A leader who has helped companies scale, built teams and financial infrastructure, navigated complexity and knows how to evolve Operations function as a business moves into its next chapter.

You will work closely with the COO, CEO, fellow Vice Presidents and C suite leadership team in a highly collaborative environment where Marketing is a strategic partner to the business.

This is an opportunity to help shape what comes next.

The Mandate

As the Vice President, you will build and evolve the operations function to support continued growth, ultimately serving as the operational counterpart and successor-level leader to the COO,someone capable of independently running the organization's day-to-day operating engine.

Your mandate will include:

- Own the full order lifecycle end-to-end, from order intake through fulfillment and delivery
- Lead strategic vendor and partner relationships, including network capacity, sourcing, and integrations
- Strengthen financial operations across margin, unit economics, monthly billing, and vendor payments
- Build and scale operational controls, governance, and compliance (including frameworks such as HIPAA and SOC 2)
- Own day-to-day risk management, identifying issues early and setting explicit thresholds
- Develop reporting and KPIs that give leadership visibility into vendor performance, team performance, and business trajectory
- Partner cross-functionally with product, customer success, sales, and marketing to align operations with company priorities
- Reduce manual dependencies by driving systemization, automation, and thoughtful adoption of AI across operations
- Build and develop a bench of strong leaders, growing directors into future VPs
- Participate in quarterly foresight sessions to plan operational capacity 12–24 months and 3–5 years out
- Be capable of running the business independently, including partnerships, vendor relationships, capacity, financial operations, compliance, risk,

and reporting, without every decision routing back to the executive team

Who You Are

- You are an experienced operations leader who has already run something larger and more complex than what you'd be stepping into, you've seen the movie before, not just heard about it.
- You have deep, hands-on expertise in production and logistics environments comparable to print, mail, transactional communications, postal, or similarly complex distributed-fulfillment operations, and you're comfortable with the terminology and mechanics that come with it.
- You understand distributed vendor networks, not just how to run your own plant, but how to get results, enforce SLAs, and manage capacity and concentration risk across vendors who don't report to you.
- You are financially sharp: fluent in unit economics, margin, reconciliation, and billing integrity, and quick to notice anomalies or leakage before they become problems.
- You treat compliance as an operational discipline, not a legal abstraction, you know how policies actually translate into day-to-day workflows, access controls, and vendor practices.
- You think in systems before you think in headcount, and you have a track record of moving teams from manual processes toward standardized, automated, exception-based operations.
- You are a leadership builder who has developed directors and managers into stronger leaders, and you want to keep doing that here.
- You bring a collaborative, low-ego style, you're motivated by building something well with others, not by proving you're the smartest person in the room, and you're comfortable challenging leadership constructively rather than simply agreeing.
- You are adaptable and curious, with a track record that shows range rather than doing the same thing the same way for over a decade.
- You can operate across three time horizons at once: running the business today, planning 12–24 months ahead, and shaping what the operation needs to look like in 3–5 years.

You bring:

- Significant operations leadership experience in a business with a complex, high-volume, or distributed fulfillment model

- A proven track record of managing operations at a scale larger than what you'd be joining, tens of millions of transactions, pieces, or units per month, or an environment of comparable complexity
- Strong experience across vendor/partner network management, financial operations, billing integrity, and operational compliance
- Experience building and developing multiple layers of leadership beneath you
- Strong commercial and analytical instincts, including rate forecasting, trend prediction, and margin optimization
- Comfort with technology and automation,API-literate even if not a technologist yourself, and a bias toward reducing manual work
- Existing industry relationships and credibility, ideally including carrier, vendor, or production-network connections
- The ability to operate strategically while staying close enough to the details to catch what others miss
- A collaborative, low-ego leadership style paired with the confidence to challenge and be challenged
- Experience thriving in fast-moving, entrepreneurial environments where the organization is actively scaling

Why This Role

- You will join at a moment when the operation has real momentum and an even bigger ambition ahead of it.
- This role is being built around a simple standard: if the leader you report to disappeared for 90 days, nothing operational should fall apart. That means real ownership, real trust, and the room to run things your way,not a seat where you're waiting for permission to make calls you're already qualified to make.
- You will have the opportunity to build the operating organization, develop the leaders beneath you, and shape how the business scales toward the next order of magnitude in volume and complexity.
- For the right leader, this role is more than a VP title.
- It is the opportunity to become the operational backbone of the business, build a team from the ground up, influence how the company scales, and grow into a broader COO-level mandate over time.
- If you've run something bigger than this before and you're ready to build what comes next, this could be the opportunity you've been waiting for.

Compensation:

$150K–$220K base salary + performance-based compensation, commensurate with experience and scope.

Equal Opportunity Employer:

We are an Equal Opportunity Employer and are committed to creating an inclusive workplace. We welcome applications from all qualified candidates regardless of race, religion, gender, age, disability, sexual orientation, or any other protected characteristic.
