We are currently seeking an energetic and collaborative individual to join our team as an Analyst,Innovation & Emerging Opportunities. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who likes intellectually challenging work in a collaborative environment that fosters innovation and creativity.Reporting to the Manager of Innovation & Emerging Opportunities, the Analyst will provide support to Senior Advisors and Advisors on strategic initiatives related to supporting the efficient integration of distributed energy resources, the development of new rate frameworks, and establishing and supporting sector partnerships. The work of the Analyst will include research and analysis, drafting written materials such as briefing notes and presentations, project management, and support for stakeholder engagement. The Analyst will support senior staff in collaborating with stakeholders and leading stakeholder consultations and will provide support to develop policy recommendations to keep pace with a changing energy sector.Responsibilities




Monitor the energy sector in Ontario and other jurisdictions to ensure awareness of key policy developmentsIdentify trends and events that could have significant policy implications for Ontario's energy sectorResearch and analyze issues relating to innovation, current technologies, rates frameworks and distributed energy resourcesAssist in the development of policy recommendations by conducting research, preparingbriefingnotes, and analyzing dataAssist in the development of workplans to support the work of internal multi-stakeholder teamsSupport stakeholder consultations, meetings, and working groups to gather emerging trend information and identify issuesRecord and consolidate stakeholder feedback for use in the development of policy options and recommendationsWork with Public Affairs to develop and maintain stakeholder engagement platforms and communication materials related to Strategic Policy initiativesWork closely with other departments on technical and administrative projectsQualifications
Undergraduate degree in Economics, Public Policy, Commerce, Accounting, Engineering, or related discipline.A graduate degree or professional designation is preferred.3 years’ experience working in strategic policy or energy policy development.Experience working within a regulated industry, regulatory body and/or public utility is preferred.Superior written and verbal communication skills.Organizational skills to plan, prioritize, and organize work in an accurate and detailed manner.Ability to work independently and on a team.Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.This job posting represents an existing vacancy.Pursuant to theAccessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, the Ontario Energy Board will make reasonable efforts to provide accommodation to candidates with disabilities in the course of the recruitment process upon written request.
