Position: Full-Time Automotive Technician / Licensed Mechanic Location: Ontario Compensation: Hourly Pay — Not Flat Rate We are looking for a fully licensed, experienced Automotive Technician to join our team. We are looking for someone who is dependable, skilled, efficient, and takes genuine pride in their workmanship. Most importantly, we want someone who understands the responsibility that comes with working on customers' vehicles. When a customer leaves their vehicle with us, they are trusting us with their safety, the safety of their passengers, and the safety of everyone else on the road. We take that responsibility seriously, and we expect the same from every member of our team. THE ROLE The successful candidate should be capable of taking a vehicle from diagnosis to completion, while working efficiently and paying close attention to detail. Your responsibilities will include: - Bringing vehicles into the shop and accurately diagnosing customer concerns. - Determining the appropriate repairs and maintenance required. - Identifying and ordering the correct parts for the repair. - Verifying parts before installation to ensure they are correct for the vehicle and the repair being performed. - Completing repairs efficiently and to a skilled standard. - Inspecting your work before the vehicle leaves the shop. - Performing a thorough inspection of the vehicle and identifying other safety concerns or maintenance issues that may require attention. - Ensuring the vehicle is safe and roadworthy before it is returned to the customer. - Communicating findings and repair recommendations clearly to customers when required. - Explaining what is happening with the vehicle, why a repair is needed, and what the customer should be aware of going forward. - Working with the team to ensure jobs are completed properly and on schedule. - Keeping your work area, tools and the shop clean and organized. SAFETY & RESPONSIBILITY We believe that being an automotive technician comes with a significant responsibility.
A vehicle that has been improperly repaired or insufficiently inspected can put a customer's life, their passengers' lives, and other road users at risk. A mistake or failure to properly inspect a vehicle can also result in significant financial loss for the customer. For this reason, due diligence is expected on every vehicle. This includes: - Confirming that the correct parts have been supplied before beginning installation. - Inspecting components before installation for obvious damage, incorrect fitment or other concerns. - Double-checking your work. - Completing required inspections rather than assuming everything is fine. - Identifying safety concerns that may not have been part of the customer's original complaint. - Making sure the vehicle is safe to return to the road. We expect our technicians to work efficiently and responsibly. We understand that unexpected issues can arise during a repair, but we also expect technicians to manage their time well and make every reasonable effort to complete the day's work properly. When necessary, you must be willing to stay late to finish a customer's vehicle rather than leaving an incomplete or unsafe job. REQUIREMENTS - The successful candidate must: - Be a fully licensed Automotive Service Technician. - Have strong hands-on automotive repair and diagnostic experience. - Be confident diagnosing and repairing a wide range of vehicles. - Have a valid Ontario G driver's license. - Have a clean driving record and be willing to provide a driver's abstract. - Have their own toolbox and sufficient tools to perform regular automotive maintenance and repair work.
- Currently reside in Ontario. - Live close enough to the shop to be able to reliably and comfortably commute. - Be reliable and punctual. - Be willing to stay late when necessary to properly complete a job. - Be available to work certain Saturdays when required, particularly during our busy season. - Be a team player and willing to assist coworkers when needed. - Treat customers and coworkers with respect. - Maintain a clean and organized work environment. - Communicate clearly and professionally. - Be able to explain automotive issues and repair recommendations in a way customers can understand. - Take ownership of the quality and safety of their work. WHAT WE OFFER - Hourly pay — not flat-rate/flat-book pay. - Fully climate-controlled facility — comfortable working temperatures year-round, keeping the shop cooler in the summer and warm in the winter. - Clean, organized and professional work environment. - Friendly and respectful workplace. - Supportive, team-oriented environment. - Opportunities for career growth and advancement. - Ongoing learning and skill-development opportunities. - Opportunity to work alongside experienced automotive professionals. - Opportunity to take on additional responsibility and grow within the company as your skills and experience develop. - A workplace where safety, cleanliness, teamwork, customer service and accountability are taken seriously. WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR We are looking for someone who doesn't simply want a job turning wrenches. We want a technician who understands that every vehicle that leaves our shop has our name behind it. If you are dependable, experienced, efficient, take pride in your work, and understand the importance of doing a complete job and returning every vehicle safely to the customer, we want to hear from you. Please submit your resume and include your licensing status, automotive experience and areas of expertise.
