Wage: $19 per hour.
Job Type: Full-Time
Hours: 40 hours per week
Shift & Schedule: Varying schedules including days, evenings, overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Front Desk Agent represents the hotel throughout all stages of a guest’s stay and is responsible for delivering exceptional guest service. This position works closely with all hotel departments to ensure guests receive superior customer care, from reservation and check-in through to check-out. Responsibilities include registering guests, assigning rooms, accommodating special requests, processing transactions, and ensuring every guest enjoys a comfortable and memorable experience.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES





Work duties include but are not limited to the following:

- Welcome guests and provide exceptional customer service throughout their stay.
- Process guest check-ins, check-outs, room assignments, and payments accurately.
- Handle reservations, cancellations, and reservation modifications received through various channels.
- Maintain accurate records of room availability, reservations, and room assignments.
- Coordinate with Housekeeping regarding room status, early arrivals, late departures, day-use rooms, and special guest requests.
- Coordinate maintenance requests and room deficiencies with the Maintenance department.
- Promote room upgrades, hotel services, amenities, and the Best Western Rewards program.
- Respond to guest inquiries and provide information regarding hotel services, local attractions, and community events.
- Resolve guest concerns and complaints professionally and efficiently.
- Process cash, debit, credit card, and other payment transactions according to hotel procedures.
- Process transactions in the hotel market or retail area as required.
- Maintain guest confidentiality and protect personal information.
- Maintain a professional appearance and conduct consistent with hotel standards.
- Follow all hotel policies, procedures, safety standards, and brand requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.





SKILLS/EDUCATION REQUIRED

The successful candidate will possess some or all of the following characteristics:

- Completion of secondary school (High School) or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in a hotel, hospitality, tourism, or customer service environment is an asset.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent customer service and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to communicate professionally with guests, coworkers, and management.
- Experience with cash handling, payment processing, and safeguarding confidential information.
- Experience using a hotel Property Management System (PMS) is an asset.
- Knowledge of proper telephone etiquette and qualified guest interaction.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays.
- Authorization to work legally in Canada (Required).

Adaptable Language Requirement:

- French not required

Ability to Commute/Relocate:

- Fort McMurray, AB: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
