Position Type: Part-Time / Casual with potential for increased hours

- Valid driver’s licence and reliable personal vehicle are required. The successful candidate must be able to travel to client homes and provide emergency shift coverage when needed.About the Position

Prairie Comfort Home Care is looking for a reliable, organized, and compassionate Home Care Office & Care Coordinator to support our growing home care team.

This is a hands-on and flexible position that combines office administration, caregiver scheduling and coordination, client communication, and occasional field support. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working independently, communicating with caregivers and clients, and stepping in when needed to help ensure our clients receive uninterrupted care.

Key Responsibilities

Office & Administrative Support

- Assist with day-to-day office administration and organization.
- Answer and respond to client, caregiver, and family inquiries.
- Maintain client and caregiver records and documentation.
- Assist with preparing schedules, forms, reports, and other office documents.
- Follow company policies, procedures, and confidentiality requirements.

Caregiver Scheduling & Management

- Create and maintain caregiver schedules based on client needs and availability.
- Coordinate shift changes, call-ins, vacations, and last-minute coverage.




- Communicate schedule updates clearly to caregivers and clients.
- Monitor attendance, shift coverage, and caregiver availability.
- Help resolve scheduling issues and find appropriate coverage when required.
- Maintain skilled relationships with caregivers and support them with day-to-day concerns.

Emergency Shift Coverage

- Be available, when reasonably possible, to cover a caregiver shift in an emergency when suitable coverage cannot be arranged.
- Provide direct client support within the scope of training, experience, and company requirements.
- Help ensure clients do not experience unnecessary interruptions in scheduled care.

Client Consultations & Assessments

- Participate in client consultations as guided by management.
- Meet with prospective or existing clients and families to gather information about their care needs.
- Ask appropriate questions regarding routines, preferences, services required, and scheduling.
- Communicate client information accurately to the care coordination team.
- Follow management's direction regarding care plans, service recommendations, and next steps.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism during all client interactions.

Qualifications & Skills

- Previous experience in home care, healthcare, administration, scheduling, or a related field is preferred.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Comfortable communicating with clients, families, caregivers, and management.




- Ability to handle changing priorities and last-minute situations calmly.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Comfortable using computers, email, scheduling systems, and Microsoft Office/Google Workspace.
- Ability to work independently while also being a strong team member.
- Must demonstrate professionalism, reliability, discretion, and compassion.
- A valid driver's licence and reliable transportation would be an asset due to the possibility of client consultations and emergency shift coverage.
