Advanced Development Engineer
Global Headquarters – Ridgetown, Ontario, Canada

The Advanced Development Engineer is responsible for leading the end-to-end development of innovative product concepts from ideation through to handoff for commercialization. This role requires a strategic thinker with robust technical expertise who can navigate ambiguity, drive innovation, and align engineering solutions with business and customer needs.

This is a fully onsite position and requires daily attendance at our facility in Ridgetown, Ontario, Canada.

Occasional travel to the United States, Europe, and Asia is required.

Advanced Development Manager

Qualifications

- Minimum 5 years in an automotive manufacturing environment, preferably in product development.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience

Skills

- Solid analytical thinking and creative problem-solving skills
- Strong verbal communication and presentation skills
- Excellent written communication skills
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Proficiency with CAD software, including CATIA
- Experience with embedded systems
- Familiarity with intellectual property (IP) documentation processes
- Knowledge of automotive standards and manufacturing processes

Salary Range

- $75,000 – $115,000

Job Responsibilities

- Lead Innovation: Identify and define new product opportunities and enhancements based on market/technological trends, customer, and legislative needs.
- Develop & Validate Concepts: Create, analyze,



and test innovative concepts using engineering tools and prototypes.
- Lead internal teams and external partners to align development with business goals.
- Lead Incubator Session Process: Assemble and guide cross-functional discussions to generate new ideas and solutions, and follow up to implementation
- Manage Projects: Oversee advanced development projects from concept to handoff, ensuring timelines and budgets are met.
- Engage Customers: Interface with customers to generate excitement, gather feedback and refine concepts to meet their needs.
- Support IP & Technology Strategy: Contribute to patent filings and stay current with emerging technologies.
- Transfer Knowledge: Deliver complete technical and marketing handoff packages to Product Engineering and Sales.

- Prioritize safety and comply with the Health and Safety Management System.
- Support risk reduction, hazard identification, and continuous improvement efforts.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and wellness legislation and KSR standards.
- Uphold and adhere to the KSR Code of Ethics and Qualified Conduct.

Environmental

- Promote the global Environmental Management System with a focus on footprint reduction, recycling, and resource efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with environmental legislation and KSR standards.
