Levert is currently recruiting a Construction Superintendent on behalf of our client, a major mining operation in the Sudbury area. The successful candidate will provide field leadership and coordination for construction activities, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently and in accordance with drawings, specifications, schedules and site requirements.

This innovative project will unlock new copper and nickel resources by expanding existing underground infrastructure, creating a long-term operation with an estimated 20+ year mine life.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on construction leader with strong field experience who can effectively coordinate contractors, project teams and site stakeholders while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality and project execution.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and coordinate construction activities, priorities, resources and contractors.
- Direct construction-phase planning and support effective project execution and constructability.
- Manage contractor performance and ensure compliance with company policies, safety requirements,



environmental standards and applicable legislation.
- Coordinate construction activities with project leads, engineering, operations and maintenance.
- Support tendering, contractor selection and contract administration in accordance with procurement requirements.
- Monitor construction progress, quality, productivity and schedule performance.
- Participate in project risk assessments, HAZOPs, JSAs and constructability reviews.
- Develop and support project safety plans and conduct field safety observations and audits.
- Participate in incident investigations and corrective-action processes.
- Perform field QA verification to ensure construction complies with approved drawings and specifications.
- Identify and coordinate resolution of construction deficiencies and field issues.
- Participate in commissioning, equipment start-up and handover to operations and maintenance.
- Maintain effective communication with project leads, contractors and key stakeholders.

Qualifications

- 8+ years of progressive construction experience, preferably within mining, heavy industrial or mineral processing environments.
- 3+ years of construction supervision or superintendent-level experience.




- Strong experience managing contractors and multidisciplinary construction activities.
- Post-secondary education in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Construction Management, Skilled Trades or a related discipline; equivalent construction experience will be considered.
- Experience with construction planning, constructability, commissioning and project handover.
- Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, scopes of work and technical documentation.
- Knowledge of construction QA/QC, contract administration and procurement processes.
- Strong understanding of Ontario health and safety requirements within mining and construction environments.
- Experience with risk assessments, HAZOPs, JSAs, safety audits and incident investigations.
- Strong leadership, communication, organization and problem-solving skills.
