Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced, self-motivated, and detail-oriented Working Supervisor to lead and oversee the machinist team at Carol Lake Hydraulics and Machining.
The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising day-to-day activities, ensuring high-quality work, and maintaining safety standards.
As the first point of contact for customers requiring hose and fitting solutions, the Working Supervisor will use the Parker ‘STAMP’ method to identify customer requirements, assemble hoses, and provide timely solutions.

Key Responsibilities: Supervise, coordinate, and schedule the machinist team’s daily activities, ensuring all work is completed efficiently and safely. Conduct safety meetings and enforce adherence to health and safety policies and procedures. Ensure the use of proper protective clothing and equipment to ensure the health and safety of team members. Manage work practices and processes to maintain safety standards, quality, and productivity. Provide technical guidance and support to team members while fostering a collaborative, problem-solving environment. Participate in workplace inspections, incident investigations, and resolve work-related issues. Handle customer inquiries, ensuring accurate hose solutions are provided using the Parker STAMP method. Supervise and manage inventory, ordering materials and supplies as needed. Oversee hose assembly processes including cutting, cleaning, and crimping hoses. Maintain organized and clean workspaces, applying 6S principles to improve operational efficiency. Ensure all work orders and customer requirements are met in a timely manner, with adherence to quality control standards.



Collaborate with other departments and assist in the development and improvement of standard operating procedures.

Qualifications: Trade certification in a related field (e.g., Machinist, Fitter).
Experience in a similar supervisory role, ideally in machining or manufacturing.
Strong communication, organizational, and planning skills.
Basic computer skills and familiarity with relevant systems (Parker Tracking System is an asset).
Excellent report writing skills and attention to detail.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Conflict resolution skills and a proactive approach to managing team dynamics.
Conscientious of quality control in finished products and overall work output.
Ability to work in various environmental conditions and temperatures, as needed.
